Because she’s well known and popular. I don’t know why she is popular, but she seems to be based on polling, which, bad as it is as evidence, is better than anything else I can think of. Why was Trump good at running for President?

Not that it matters. Biden should just have not run for re-election and the candidate should have been determined in the primaries. But he did run. And he’s still running. And Trump will be the next President.

I’m starting to see opposition to Kamala as a Biden replacement using the talking point that she’s married to a Zionist Jew. Not sure if it will spread beyond cranks and/or Russian bots, but I’m sure we’ll see people try to attack her via her husband if she ends up the nominee.
