Arizona’s general electorate has been pretty consistently good about not letting this type of person pass go, so hopefully that’s the case again here.

another thing he was extremely correct about was that the J&J pause would lead to lower vaccination rates (you can see in the graphs that the overall rate for all vaccinations PLUMMETS immediately when the J&J pause was announced). like, dipshit doctors were all on CNN with the “NATE IS NOT AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE EXPERT” takes, when it was extremely obvious what was going to happen and that you didn’t need any infectious disease expertise to know this.
I think most people who criticize nate for his covid opinions are thinking about how much credence he gave (and continues to give) to lab leak theories. I don’t think he has said that it was definitely a leak or even that the leak theory is a favorite to be true, but he has been very vocal about media outfits completely dismissing it.

Nate Silver compared school closures to the Iraq War. I wouldn’t exactly say he was “right” about that. He was also against school closings as early as 2020 so it wasn’t like he waited to make these takes until Covid had become less deadly and vaccines existed to provide some protection.
Even with hindsight I’m still closing schools for Spring 2020, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. After that no. But that wasn’t his take. He wanted to let it rip from pretty much the beginning.

University of New Hampshire poll has Harris up 54-43. It was a 7 point lead in August.
Proud of the state if that keeps up. Trump narrowly lost (less than half a point) in 2016, Biden won by 7 in 2020.
