2024 US Presidential Election (Taylor's Version)

From a purely selfish ego-protecting perspective, staying in make sense for Biden. As you say, if he wins then he gets the world’s all time greatest I told you so moment. If he loses, he can convince himself (with a big assist from his family, I am sure) that all the negativity and criticism made him lose so it’s actually our fault that Trump won, not his fault.

Yea, fair. It might be that she’s the only answer to your question too. I’m assuming there are other options, but if not then :man_shrugging: good luck Kamala I guess

It’s not too much to ask. “Lose with dignity” is the official Dem party slogan at this point.

It was. They did some focus groups and decided to shorten it to “lose”.

Its almost as though our election system is fucking broken. Not being able to change our minds on a candidate 5 months out is ludicrous. In every other democracy on earth, the candidates arent even close to being set at this point.

Yea people act like you can’t run a campaign for someone new that quick, yes yes you can

Maybe more accurately you can’t run as big of a fundraising grift when the campaign is that short. Think of the poor consultants who will miss out on all that money.

Word needs to go out that your career in D politics is over if you back Joe now.

We see this time and time again, where minions prop up the person in power. Most extreme recent example was Feinstein. Her team did everything to hide her condition so they could retain their power. I’m sure it was fun being a shadow Senator/President, even if it’s terrible for the country.

I think the caveat to “who is most likely to beat Trump” is that “who deserves it the most” and will thus be accepted with limited revolt. Dems need to quickly stop the infighting and come together to back a new candidate. Sadly Kamala might be the only viable option for that, due in part to her thinking she deserves it. Would we really expect her to go quietly into the night if she’s passed over. I could see her supporters playing the race/woman card.

Obama coming out against Biden. It’s over.

“Former president Barack Obama has told allies in recent days that President Biden’s path to victory has greatly diminished and he thinks the president needs to seriously consider the viability of his candidacy, according to multiple people briefed on his thinking.”

Somebody find a good pic for one last Obama/Biden meme, where Obama is standing behind him saying “It’s gonna be great, Joe. We’ll have a nice ranch and live off the fat of the land, you can tend to the rabbits…”

You could have a competition lasting 7 weeks with 8 politicians competing in various tasks week to week with 1 eliminated each week. The last person standing is the winner. You could call it The Trainee.
