I was thrilled to open my Cali ballot and have no judges. Just pres, senate, house, Cali senate, mayor, treasurer and only 12 ballot measures.
Well, the polling from this cycle tells the same story. These are the numbers from the latest NYT polls of battleground states:
Sure, I agree with this. To piggyback on the graph I just posted, I could see Kamala pulling a lot more people from the âsomewhat likelyâ group.
Huh?! Not only didnât my ballot not list party affiliation for judges, but there was nothing on the official website for judges that did. I had a heck of a time finding any info on any judges and was reduced to using a similar process that @LFS suggested
Yeah. the New York ballot was weirdly organized. Iâm sure that they werenât running for party which is why some were listed twice for the same spot under different parties.
no?
States differ in how judges are elected - some states have partisan elections and others do not.
I think views on Kamala like the guy mentioned above are certainly a matter of race/gender, a friend of mine the other day who doesnât really care about politics but is in a group chat where I mention politics a lot, was talking the other day about how Kamala is âsuper cringeâ in how she acts and way more cringe than the orange clown. I tried telling him that I think thatâs because heâs a white male and so he relates more to how trump acts and doesnât to Kamala but he didnât want to hear that, claimed that no black woman he knows acts like her, which he does work with black people but I still think it changes his judgement
They should have done âvoted in primaries 2020, 2022, and 2024â.
The 2020 general only and no voting record numbers are probably very very small especially for dems (for dems itâs likely mostly turned 18 voters since 2022). This sample really says nothing to me without even really looking into it. Itâs intending to create a horse race result that isnât real to grab clicks and headlines.
âWomen are dumbâ is the base 4-3 defense against every female candidate.
Was on a wine tour today of the Douro region and my wife and I were accompanied by a couple of 10-20 years older than us from Manchester and a couple 20-30 years older than us from St. Louis. Right away the guy from Manchester said youâve got an election coming up soon and the St Louis guy responded that it was certainly going to be interesting⌠then starting talking about taxes and Harrisâ plan if she got in was going to have a bad effect and that the US was going to end up like Britain. Manchester guy shutup and didnât ask any more questions as soon as he started talking.
Wtf? I thought all Americans that travelled outside the states were Democrats. Sure enough on our wine tour with two other couples we had at least one Trumper I thought(didnât outright say).
Then I missed the beginning of the conversation, but at the first vineyard there were two couples from Wichita and Colorado and one of them corrected him on that Spanish was spoken in the US 150 years before English was and he seemed dismissive. He later spoke about liking Spain and Italy, but wouldnât step foot in France.
Plenty of rich republicans who are too into their wine collections.
The same paper that wouldnât endorse her?
The same paper that would have endorsed her until Bezos said nah, donât want Trump shitting on me.
[tinfoil hat] That seems like the kind if thing Bezos would want to happen when accused of being a Trump-leaning coward. [/tinfoil hat]
I absolutely dread being sucked into a political conversation while on vacation abroad. Even if I am talking with an agreeable party - itâs my vacation, I want to escape. Itâs part of why I leave the country for vacation. If I get questions/prompts like that, I just answer with a general âyep, yep, we do, should be interesting!â and hope thatâs the end of it. LOL at that dude launching into a rant about Harris socialist tax policy when youâre trying to enjoy Portugal.
Trump is like the Westboro Baptist dipshits: Donât actually do anything but whine and cry, and sue everybody.
My judge races (13 of 14) were unopposed republicans.
