2024 US Presidential Election: First Polls Close in 24 Hours

It doesn’t have to be actually true as long as it feels true. Like schools performing gender reassignments during lunch.

Someone show this to Jake Tapper. If Trump threatens Liz Cheney, the MSM might start to take him seriously.

The poll Riverman cited doesn’t seem to be an exit poll, just a regular poll.

In the US there’s a voluntary media embargo on publishing exit polls until the polls close, but I think it’s technically allowed under the 1st Amendment.

Truthiness, one might say.

They have a law about that? Exit polls are just someone asking people how the voted after they did it. Curious about how that law is written. If I ask 10 people and post my results on UP am I breaking the law.

According to wiki there was an incident in 1980 when an exit poll was published early and since then the networks have agreed to not do that. The concern is that it could discourage voting. Not too surprising other countries have specific laws against it.

It basically says you are not allowed to post polls about elections before voting is closed.

My wife got into it a bit with one of her team members who is based out of Bulgaria. He also said that Harris can’t string two sentences together. I don’t know what they’re being fed in in eastern Europe but it’s apparently effective.

One of the last articles I read on a major german news channel was basically that you nobody knows what Harris stands for. Nobody knows what she will do different from Biden. Conservatives framing the news everywhere still wanting unchecked capitalism. But we all know how Trump loves tariffs and how much Germany would be hurt by that. They really hope the leopard doesnt eat their face.

+12,000 jobs report not great 4 days before an election.

People are doing polling and then part of the questionnaire is whether they have already voted. Then they are publishing the results of that subset.

Way back in the day when almost all voting was done on a single day in-person, the media would stand outside of polling places and ask people who they voted for. Those results would not be posted until polls closed.

Yeah, I that’s basically what I told him. Like I said, he readily admitted that his Twitter feed is chock full of pro-Trump bullshit (which, to be clear, he hates).

“I feel like my X feed is full of pro-Trump stuff so I’m seeing a filtered version of what is actually going on and I’m concerned everyone is seeing this”

it was expected due to hurricane and the strikes

Why does she have to do anything different from Biden?

That’s still better than Orange Man, right?

100K was the estimate. August and September revised downward. Don’t know if it changes anything, but It’s going to cut through.

Don’t think this has been posted yet, but if you’re looking for some hopium, this Distraction (Defector/former Deadspin group) podcast will give you some:

tl;dr: Drew Magary and co-host are confident that Kamala curb stomps him.

I think we’re too late in the game for much to matter. The Puerto Rico thing, maybe, but this? Doubt it.

The Earth will one day be swallowed up by the sun, so nothing matters, anyway. Eat Arby’s.
