Yes, but unfortunately that plays a huge role in how other people react to them.
As just one metric, Canada took in way more Syrian refugees as a % of population than the US did. There are lots of Jamaican and other Carribean populations in and around Toronto. Lots of folks from Hong Kong, China, and other parts of Asia (especially on the West Coast). Even among âwhite peopleâ the Quebecois present a unique enclave. Itâs racial/ethnic diversity and the issues presented are not the same as the US, but it not some lily white monolith.
If that were true, white people in the usa wouldnât get so viscerally angry when I tell them my father and half my lineage is mixed race. Again, this is a stark cultural and racial/ethnic/whatever hoops you need to jump through to label it difference between the usa and canada. I do not really think you have the same issues with race that the usa does and it isnât because youâre culturally superior, like, that kind of framing is horrible to me
I genuinely have no idea what point you are making with respect to the discussion happening itt right now.
Collectivism is superior to individualism
A global view of the world is superior to patriotism
Pacifism is superior to militarism
Inclusion is superior to nativism
Again Canada is no utopia and we have a long way to go on these ideals but if we are all still progressives its seems pretty obvious we want both nations to be more âCanadianâ not more âAmericanâ.
And told everyone that the cops are our friends
I had never heard of killer Mike until today which I think supports funcrushers point (maybe?). Music stopped being made in like 1997 in my mind.
Lmao, he was protecting black owned businesses. Almost half, iirc, owned by women.
You can have pride in the work youâve done without shitting on others.
You can be both.
Trumpism is an opportunity for everyone to join in the experience that we, as a nation, have foisted on others.
Sad to learn that MAGA already got to my local card shop and they may have stopped providing abortions
It objectively is, though.
Asking for a friend whose family is currently in rural Oregon. Where in the United States or anywhere in the world would you move your family after this election? Mother is an oncologist who would need to relicense. Daughter is trans so thereâs concerns not just for healthcare but for gender affirming care.
Like doctor wise New Zealand is the best bet
Moved all the posts about other forums and banned the gimmick that started the conversation as itâs clearly an alt (possibly a banned user) created just to stir up this drama.
I didnât even think of New Zealand! Iâve wanted to visit there for a while. Now I need them to go there so I can pop in to say hello.
They have different rules for various specialties, I only know about emergency medicine and that it would likely work for me
Just move to Portland. Itâs literally right there.
I hear you but seems theyâre intent on moving out of state.
