I literally just got a letter from geico saying they’re rejigging/ upping our insurance. (3 cars w our 17 yo piggybacking on our insurance - bout 20 yrs w geico). He pranged his old car recently ).

I’d try to get quotes from

USAA
NJM
Amica
State Farm
Erie Insurance

You may not apply for all of them or they may not all be available in your state though

He needs to talk to this guy:

It’s these vids:

A lot. But this drug is like the ideal that very few live up to. I can still sleep without it, and in 15+ years I haven’t had to go up in dosage. Also, unlike ambien, I don’t have weird dreams or wake up feeling groggy.

You might also try sleeping in as cold of a room as possible. In my case I think getting super hot under the covers contributed to it. A fan will help dissipate the heat bubble.

We have an insanely busy Halloween block.

We went through 3.5 bags of Costco candy last night. I’d guess anywhere between 300-500 kids from 430-8

Good god.

We actually have a lot of kids who live in our neighborhood (it’s REALLY weird that we’re the old ones now), but for some reason, barely anyone has come by in the last few years. Probably had single-digit doorbell rings.

They might gather at the richer neighborhoods or ones with a little more visibility with driveways closer together.

We also have trick or treating at night - I’m guessing if it was during the day on the weekend, we’d get more kids.

Color me surprised but the kids and parents showed up last night! It was raining hard for this area and dark, but lots of kids had umbrellas and lights. We went through 30 full size pretty quickly (prob ~30m of turning on the light), 2 of those Costco bags, and another smaller bag. Probably wouldn’t have went through so much candy but after I ran out of full size I was telling the kids “no limit”. Also, our little one got to hand out some candy and he loved it. More than one visitor walked away saying “That kid gave me so much candy” lol. I’d estimate around a 100 or so, but I honestly didn’t count.

Then my fiancée took our kid out and ended up with a pretty fat sack just from going around the block.

Think we ended up with a slight net loss in candy.

I told my wife we should rally the neighborhood to have all the kids AND adults trick or treat. And maybe make it during the day on a weekend. The downside is that people won’t be home to give out candy, which means bowls will be raided.

Our neighborhood does do a block party before trick or treating starts, but we don’t always go. It’s at 5:00pm, which is a little rough if Halloween is a weekday.

My 16 year-old went to his first party-party last night. No parents, I’m sure there was some drinking/drugs. He and some of his friends left for a while to do some trick or treating. I’m sure it was about the free candy, but still cute. Yes, they were in costume.

A memory popped up on my Facebook feed from 14 years ago:

“Trick-or-treaters welcome tonight, but come in a costume. If you’re not, I have a selection of candy canes, ramen noodles, and instant oatmeal.”

I would get teenagers just out for candy and not dressed up, so I had two bowls. Thing was, some of them got excited for the ramen.

My sisters neighborhood is the absolute GOAT for halloween. There are tons of kids. Every house sets up a table in their driveway with candy for the kids and jello shots, whiskey, or something else for the adults. A few houses do actual food. There was a hotdog cart at one house and a full on bbq at another with pulled pork sandwhiches. One house does a haunted house in their garage and goes all out with decorating. Music playing throughout the neighborhood. Fire pits on the driveways if its cold. Just an all around awesomw halloween atmosphere for everyone involved.

Dude next to me on the plane is doomscrolling foxnews and now red state. I might have to pull an Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando on him.

And now he’s on to Town Hall. Dude is in deep.

And now something called instapundit,com.

He’s switching sites every 15 seconds. Just looking for fresh rage.

Sounds like my brother. He tweets non stop rage 24/7.

Hoo boy I can’t believe this is still a thing, instapundit was hip back in the McCain candidacy days

I went to the bathrooom and then got up again to get my computer and dude looked at me like I was putting him out. We’re in the front row, he literally just has to move his knees slightly to the side.

Definitely gonna Commando him.

You should’ve introduced yourself by giving a woman’s first name, and if pressed, “My pronouns are ‘they’ and ‘them’.”

Is commandoing like crop dusting?

My daughter got a packet of beef ramen. I locked it up.
