Perfect campaign
People fall into various categories of course, some people are have completely fried brains. But often when people are eager to buy in to some attack as true itâs because they donât like the target and are looking for something to pin on them. Then all the âfact-checkingâ and âdebunkingâ in the world will not help at all because it doesnât fix this underlying problem. See also: Clinton, Hillary.
I suspect that a lot of âthe Dems are Too Far Leftâ takes from swing voters are really just them trying to phrase âI just donât fucking like these peopleâ in terms that make it sound like they base this on political thought and not just on emotion.
Harris did much better in swing states than non swing states. Thereâs a rather defensible argument that the tactics of the campaign worked very well.
Wow yeah someone give her a medal. Amazing campaign. Wow!!!
There is no evidence any celebs were actually paid to appear. Oprah has denied she was paid $1 million, and the other stuff is in the article is just described as ârumorsâ and provides absolutely zero sources for any of it (other than the Oprah stuff which appears to just have been production costs - unless Oprah is lying).
For the $20 million for event production, that doesnât actually seem crazy to set up a bunch of different rallies (unless youâre Trump and just stiff all the vendors). And it seems exactly what she should have been spending her money on - seems far better than just more ads.
Three months, one billion, 20 million in debt at the end
To get absolutely stomped
If you want to defend it go right ahead
Meanwhile, this is the excitement level on the day the Japanese Prime Minister is officially elected.
This is the energy we need to bring to our own political system.
Make politics boring again.

Dafuq was she doing in Houston the week before?
Generating media coverage.
She could have been generating it in Philly or Detroit or Phoenix.
In retrospect, it wouldnât have mattered. But at the time, any of those would have been higher EV than Houston.
They took down Ted Cruz and Ron Paul so it was worth it
I disagree. The vast majority of American voters will not see any short term differences between a Trump administration and a Harris administration. Most of the issues Trump will cause are impacting relatively small groups or people that canât vote to begin with but are really bad for them. Most of what he will do that impacts voting Americans will have long term impacts on the social safety net and climate change but nobody will notice that in the next 4 years.
Trump can make Barron his VP and declare him king. The SC ruled this was legal.
I always struggle with this. My instinct is the same - things need to get really shitty everywhere for enough people to see it (obviously like 40% are unreachable to begin with). OTOH a lot of people would have died or suffer immensly if ACA would have been repealed. Thatâs too much to risk
The more I think about it this is all an utter failure of the US legal system and Garland. I canât imagine being a lawyer in America under a totally broken system.
Garland and the consequences crowd will go down in the history books as the dumbest group of people in American history.
This! Trump insisting his signature went on stimulus checks back then is laughable, but voters are dumb and selfish and remember simple things.
A lot of hand wringing about dem strategy but to me the story is just how much human beings suck.
Trump won 60% of Hispanic males and 52% of white women. People he is explicitly targeting. People want to be part of the in crowd and actively enjoy the thought of the powerless and marginalized being brutalized. I donât have an answer for this so Iâm checking out. Very fortunate to have this luxury.
