I’m probably heavily biased even before this stuff came out because I absolutely hate how he’s hacked the content algorithm in a way where I don’t want to create content anymore or could never succeed without being extremely scummy
I think that’s the problem in a nutshell. You can’t campaign or message around a public that’s fundamentally misinformed. And I don’t know how you inform people that are either completely tuned out or getting news from billionaire perverts. Think we have a voting public that is dumb/misinformed in a way that isn’t fixable.
Mr. Beast is such an obvious heel, I’ll bet dollars to donuts his charity stuff is a tax dodge or some other complicated grift. I guess he’s a better role model than Andrew Tate or the public nuisance Kick streamers.
Must be old because allowing dogs is kind of trendy now.
You could be right. I sure hope so. I’d feel more confident if we didn’t see this global trend of incumbents losing. Maybe it’s an inflation specific phenomenon, but I’m skeptical.
We all have little outrage machines in our pocket now, constantly reminding us that everything is bad.
Man you realllly haven’t kept up with what’s going on with Mr. Beast lately, have you?
I’d rather my kids look up to Jack Doherty.
I have never actually watched a Mr. Beast video. But isn’t his deal basically torturing people for prizes and taping it?
I don’t think he’s some hero and no I haven’t kept up with whatever new scandals he might be getting into - the Lunchly thing? idk - but I do think the left likes to pile on irrational hatred onto popular, successful people that don’t neatly fit their world view. This includes Rogan.
Lunchly shit pales in comparison to selling gambling to children (illegal lotteries) and knowingly hiring registered sex offenders to work for a brand marketed at children.
Every quintile of household income has more buying power now than they did in Jan 2019.
Come on, this is exactly what I’m talking about. Sound like what people who banned online poker were saying.
Whatever man. You don’t want to look up the shady shit he’s been up to, that’s your call.
All I know is if I had a kid who looked up to Mr. Beast, I’d be wondering how I fucked up as a parent.
So glad not to be one and not interested in becoming one.
I have looked it up, do you want to elaborate or are you just spreading grievance outrage?
The horror!
Guy helps 1000 deaf people be able to hear, but because he offered a sweepstakes for people who bought one of his shirts, he’s an awful person.

The chart I saw showed the top quintile of wage earners actually went down.

This is another example of trying to quote economic stats to someone feeling a pinch. I am not sure how buying power is actually measured, but the stuff I actually want to spend my money on has gotten significantly more expensive the last 4 years. I can’t buy as much as I used to. My salary does not go as far as it used to. You can tell me all day long that inflation is down and buying power is up but if I’m personally struggling to make ends meet more than I was a few years ago, it doesn’t fuckin matter. I didn’t vote for Trump, but I am very skeptical that these measurements of buying power are a true reflection of reality. I guess gas is a bit cheaper though?
I do think that the Dems (not as much the actual left) do get off on their “moral superiority” and that has really turned some people off.
It’s very much both, but yes they do it in different ways.
I think it’s different levels in both magnitude and levels of repulsiveness.
For example, claiming moral superiority while yukking it up onstage with the Cheneys? Insanely repulsive.
I feel that you willingly skipped over knowingly hiring registered sex offenders and that maintaining a toxic workplace culture is okay. I’d give a watch to those DogPack videos. The first two show how much of a sociopath Mr. Beast is.
Charity is standard whitewashing behavior.
But whatever. I’m not going to change your mind. You go your way and I’ll go mine.
