Jefferies needs to resign and we need a new Democratic leader that will just troll the fucking shit out of Republicans. They should start by demanding a balanced budget since Republicans have shut down the government twenty times crying about it and now have full control over all three branches again.

Lets see what actual Republican policy looks and feels like for four years.

Basically the opposite of my mom. Hates Trump, voted for him in 2016 I think because of abortion. But once he got SCOTUS locked up, I think she stopped voting for him.

Gonna be HILARIOUS when Republicans nuke the filibuster and Manchin goes along with it.

Ah, the good ol’ “fuck you, got mine”. The foundation of conservative politics.

If both protecting abortion rights and deporting a lot of people are important to you, you have to figure out how to balance things.

Yeah, and for conservatives the technique often involves a healthy dose of “fuck you, got mine”

Has there ever been anything even remotely close to the Latino male vote swing from +23 Biden to +12 Trump

It seems like the big issue for them has to be illegal immigration. I guess they feel like new arrivals are making them look bad? I don’t see any other way to explain it. That is the single defining issue in this election compared to others.

What were the latino men numbers for Hillary?

Clinton +31
Biden +23
Trump +12

I voted for Trump.

I’ll keep an eye out for those leopards.

Please stop polluting this thread with nuance. Thanking you in advance. :grinning:

Its a tough choice about what I woult like to see happening going forward. Since about 15 mil dem voters stayed home I want that Trump does all his bad shit short of becoming a dictator so that they learn a lesson otherwise those people think that it wasnt so bad. Something like me making a fold when a call is mathematically correct and being happy once I see that turn and river would have bricked for me because then I will continue to make bad decisions. Now that our chancellor basically opted for early elections I am heading for a perfect storm of inhuman policies that only serve the rich people and the polticians that do their bidding.

Virtually no politician cares about a balanced-budget anymore, in either party.

Fyp.

Manchin is gone

Imagine for a second Kamala making a statement like, “I don’t support allowing trans women to play in women’s sports.” And think about the backlash she would get from the most vocal portions of the left, Dems, progressives etc. That’s the difference between the right and the left.

Think at the time of Hillary, they were concerned that they personally would either intentionally or unintentionally get caught up in the deportations/hassling of undocumenteds and overtime they have convinced themselves that won’t happen.

Ds who call for “pragmatic centrism” believe that the backlash from the left just makes the callout even more effective, ala Bill Clinton’s Sister Souljah moment.

The more I think about it the more I don’t see anything Dems could, or frankly, can do differently because people are voting against the system that is broken. Dems are half the system.

This is a place where we actually share a bedrock principle with MAGA. We all think the American system is fundamentally broken.

I have no idea, but wonder if the rebuild on the left isn’t somehow built on that shared belief.

I’m not saying anything Bernie hasn’t been saying for decades but it really feels like that is the key. Something laser focused on the system. Stripped of the social stuff that divides.
