Important to remember in all of this is that the difference between a Trump “blowout” and a Harris “blowout” is 3 out of 100 voters.
Margins matter. Nothing is the sole difference in isolation but also everything that matters has an effect.

Dear Santa,
Oh how cute.
It also seems a little much to be concerned about potential missteps from Kamala or that Fox is going to run a mean soundbite over and over - especially when you’re behind. Just get in there and get dirty. It’s courageous, and it will change peoples perception of you.
The postmortems about the media environment are already getting it wrong. Sure, they’re right about how the right wing has taken over podcasts, youtube, the algorithms, etc…but not about how to break through.

I see people out there talking about Air America and setting up left-wing political podcasts/streams etc. That will never work.
I need to see a million different channels on youtube or twitch with straight white guys talking about gaming or working out or fixing their cars (whatever) and just being organic examples of positive masculinity. Maybe start injecting deeper or more political discussions after they’ve built a following by manipulating the algorithms.
Also the tweeter is still calling capitalism the state of nature. Literally.
And does not even acknowledge the idea of giving voters a bit of the ole class warfare
The problem with being an institutionalist in our screwed up minoritarian system of government is that that you can’t actually do anything, so either don’t promise much or plan to disappoint.
I don’t believe his supplies all tripled in cost. I get people resort to hyperbole but it takes away from legitimate discussions when people make outlandish claims like their supplies all doubled and tripled in cost in four years.
Joe Rogan has 14.5m subscribers. Maybe if you can’t manage to not sound like an idiot talking to a literal CTE victim you shouldn’t be the Dem nominee for president.
But what about the vibes?
Eh, if those podcasts are primarily men doing men stuff with some influential dabbling in politics then Ds don’t need to start their own similar podcasts, and in fact, they probably can’t.
They need to learn how to appeal to the people who create those “man shows” for non-political reasons as they are. The alternative if that is unpalatable for whatever reason is to accept that they will have to win without them.
Yea I don’t get the whole “We need to make our own Joe Rogan”. The thing is Joe Rogan is popular because he’s not a super political guy. Ben Shapiro does not have that kind of pull and probably never will because all he talks about is politics in a super annoying way.
Only weirdos like to talk about politics all day, but that’s good because it means left leaning people can get on Rogan’s podcast and get a fair shake. Same thing with weightlifting podcasts or whatever. They’re dudes sitting on their couch. If you can have a conversation with a dude on a couch you have a shot, unlike trying to win over Ben Shapiro voters or trying to win over Fox News viewers, where to do so you have to go through someone who’s actively trying to trip you up.
One problem is that Democrats go into defense mode whenever they think they have a lead because they’re afraid to screw things up, but going away from what got you there in the first place is a mistake.
I want to congratulate this thread, because so far nobody’s take has been even 5% as stupid as boredsocial’s post mortem
My take as well. They need to influence the influencers not try and create ground up influencers. If you could manufacture a five million person audience you don’t need politics.
Rogan has been wined and dined by the republicans since he went to Texas. His politics have shifted demonstrably in this time. These people are rarely hardcore political idealists and they can be reached.
Are there any left leaning billionaires with pull? Only one I can think of is Cuban and he’s not really left leaning. He’s just not insane like Elon.
Something I just thought of in relation to this. Celebrities, which are heavily liberal and supposed to influence young people, has overall taken a massive hit in reputation and relevance (mostly for good reason) the last few years.
Yeah, also, we can’t actually TALK about it. This has to be done on the down low, in order to build audiences by working the algorithms to people who are already red-pilled, or at least those who are on their way.
