For fucks sake we have railed against coaches for being too conservative for years, and the moment that one coach errs on the aggressive side in 2 out of 3 decisions (and probably makes the more correct conservative call in the first one) he’s gonna get lambasted by Sports Talk Radio and the like because they’re fucking morons.
I’d guess he was on the correct side of WPA in all 3 choices and the two where he decided to go for it were probably within 1-2% either way.

Why this Super Bowl sucks:
Over the last 5 years this is probably the 5th best Chiefs team and 3rd best 49ers team that has played.
For so many fans (like me) who just want to see their team play in a Super Bowl once, why do these teams that suck ass by their own standards get to go to the fucking Super Bowl?

I think to me this matchup is reminiscent of the Patriots/Rams Super Bowl. Where the Patriots (this time Chiefs) fans are so spoiled with the riches of success that they’re not even that excited to be there. And the other side is a team that feels fortunate to be there but not in a way that has had a satisfying build up of any sort.
Yeah I have no problem with the 4th down calls. The players and their boneheaded drops and pathetic tackling lost the game not Dan.
Way too much hate online for the 4th down calls. I didn’t agree with them, but I can at least understand the thinking.
Way too little hate online for the 3rd down run at the end. That was indefensibly stupid. And then he made it exponentially worse by calling the timeout after that.

This is the best Chiefs defense by far. Championship defense + Mahomes and Kelce is always gonna be tough.

If not for the 3rd down call, I don’t think the other calls get the same criticism.
Running there felt like a “gutsy call” that should never be made.
