you could just approximate it as a circle

Never give up. (Well, only give up after thorough assessment.)

well that 1800 coin is at least a thousand bucks, plus the ā€œit was in the time capsuleā€ media attention so not bad if they auctioned it right fā€™ing now.

that medal canā€™t be common either (looking it up itā€™s not)

Ya, wouldnā€™t call it a big win, but itā€™s a lot better than a box of dirt.

To precisely calculate, no, but you could assume half of a 17" diameter circle + a trapezoid that has a large side of 17", a height of 5.5", and a small side of approximately 8.5" if the grid is close to even.

Thinking of going to this. If you could go to one day, which would you choose?

Guns N Roses will include both Slash and Axl

I went to this to see NIN/A Perfect Circle back in like 2017? The costs today to see the whole event for two people, including lodging is somewhere around at least 2400 before really thinking about travel and such. So maybe when I have some extra money Iā€™ll go. Just too damn expensive.

Sunday. Friday second place.

Wife wants Sunday and I want Friday. Might just do both, never been a big GNR fan, and the rest of Sunday doesnt appeal much

Im near, so the price is only for tickets but its still really expensive

Iā€™m going Friday and Saturday.

Itā€™s not too expensive when you consider that a ticket to just see one of the headliners is around the same price as the festival ticket.

Fair point. Ive never been to Discovery Park. Whats it like? Best places to park? Does the Light Rail hit close?

Perhaps my guiltiest pleasure is videos of public fights jumping off. This one is pretty good. The woman in the romper came to do business.

I havenā€™t been since 2019 so Iā€™m assuming they didnā€™t make many changes the past 2 years but itā€™s pretty nice, plenty of trees and other shaded areas so you donā€™t get roasted early in the day. Iā€™ve never actually been there when it wasnā€™t Aftershock so looking at it on Google maps is kinda fun, apparently where they set up one of the side stages is usually an archery range.

Not sure about the light rail situation but as far as I know the only option for parking is to park at Cal Expo and take shuttles from there, the group I go with usually just Lyfts to and from Discovery park each day.

Until 2018 (maybe they stopped in 2017) they used to have parking in nearby business parks that I only just realized as I was typing this had to stop because they added Fridays to the festival.

Rancid makes it close, but def Friday. Gunsā€™nā€™Roses are 50/50 to be too drunk to play, so Iā€™d factor that into your Sklansky-enjoyment.

Friday, though Iā€™m going against the grain and saying that Thursday is pretty close.

Who the fuck is Turnstile and how did they get such a high billing?

Yeah especially as a third headliner for Saturday. No idea. I think I go Fri>thu>sun>sat.

Ive seen QOTSA before and hated it, so that pulls down Sunday pretty hard for me

Mostly the same order, but I honestly think Iā€™d have Sunday last, especially if you hated QOTSA.

If you love GNR Iā€™d understand ranking Sunday higher, but that undercard fucking blows. Rancid and Billy Talent are good. Pretty weak after that.
