My vision is fine for walking around the house. I do wear glasses looking at scenic vistas.
Should have got the UV protection, imo

My vision is good for up close. So Iām covered for the phone, the computer and driving. Also donāt need glasses for sleeping. The remaining 10 minutes a dayis not worth quibbling over.
Donāt you need long distance vision for driving?
My mom got taken in by this. Before the internet stores there was only one place in town to buy eye glasses. My glasses were regularly 400+ dollars. My mom casually mentioned she spent 900 dollars on her last frames. I quickly pointed her to Costco, eyebuydirect, etc.
The thing that gets me is contacts donāt seem to have dropped in price since I was younger.
$300 for two pair of progressive lenses and frames from Costco a couple of months ago. Eye exam was like $50-100.
I think I paid like $400 at a mom and pop optometry place in Pittsburgh in like 2000. Frames were like $250, its like $60 for similar frames at Costco.
Yes, as I said. I just donāt usually wear glasses walking around. Never inside and usually not outside other than driving.
I havenāt been to the optometrist in years and my vision is clearly degrading. Iām looking forward to quitting this reading glasses bullshit and just wearing glasses all the time.
I used to wear contacts, but switched to glasses when I started to need reading glasses when I wore contacts. I can read fine w/o glasses or contacts. Point being, it was way more hassle to take glasses on and off to look at stuff close up than it is to look at stuff far away.

A girl in high school said something awful to me, I said something much worse to her. I was sitting at a desk - she ran up behind me and bit me on the back of my neck. I just kept yelling āWho bites people?!?! No one does that!ā
(She forgave me. High School didnāt punish anyone, we both felt sufficiently dumb and shamed. We had a good laugh about it at a high school reunion).
