The thing with the anti porn laws is that it takes a little bit of liberals getting on board. Like underage exposure to the amount of pornography seems bad so even proported pro sex liberals might be like, “we need to tamp down on this a bit” and age verification seems like a way to do that. Porn’s not banned, and kids don’t see that much porn
but… like abortion trap laws it’s banning through administrative red tape. It’s clear in the article and especially clear from the legislators’ actions that if no one steps up to do age verification and then by default porn is baned then oops what they were aiming for all along.
The age-verification law, which passed unanimously, inspired Pornhub to block any Utah-based ISP from the site; anyone who tried to visit saw a sex-free video from adult performer Cherie Deville urging them to contact their legislators.
