Weird, got a random call from a Hampton Inn in FL asking if Iāll be showing up for my reservation tonight. Looked up the # that called me and matches a Hampton Inn in FL.
Donāt see any charges on my credit card. Whatās the scam?

When you reserve online, you type your phone number in. Or autocomplete it with todayās browser form completion functions

They had my name though. Logged onto my account and no reservation but they changed the email associated with my account and there is a credit card I donāt recognize.
They own my account now, lol. Need the email to do anything.

I had a few points (maybe enough for one night) but they were not used. Hilton send they had locked my account for suspicious activity, not sure if what I was doing was the suspicious activity or they had already locked it previously. They had me email their security team and send they would handle it,

Bizarre part is the Ft Lauderdale reservation tonight that I was called for was not listed on my online account activity.
My guess is that someone stole my account and someone elseās credit card and cooked up a scheme to use my account to cash out on the other personās credit card. Stuff like that which triangulates two unsuspecting victims seems to be the new thing these days.
