The Burleson Public libraryâs plan was simple enough: An âanti-Valentineâ party for teens who werenât interested in Cupid and âpink hearts.â The party was going to include unromantic music and a nacho bar. But after pushback from the community and from council member Jimmy Stanford, the library decided it was best to change course.
Phillips said people commented that the library should be teaching about love. âThere were concerns about that.â

âCoded call to tolerance perhaps, which a noble sentiment but not * pregnant pause * fittingâ
So my 14 year old sent a picture of his dick to a girl from another school - she asked him to send it, no unsolicited dick pic situation. She, of course, shared it with her friends, which included girls from his school. So today a group of girls came up to him at lunch like âweâve seen your dick lolâ. He was pretty upset but I think Iâve got him feeling better. IMO the only way to move forward is to be like âOK so youâve seen my dick, hope you enjoyed it and it didnât take up all the space on your phone.â It was a pretty dumb thing to do, obviously, but the person who shared it with her friends and anyone else sucks and if people are passing it around thatâs their problem, not his.
This is real.
Also, in next weekâs WSJ:
to save money, maybe you should give up your home and in sleep in a cardboard box
To save money, maybe you should put your kids up for adoption
To save money, consider going to jail
Let them eat cake.
Be very careful. Technically, he can get prosecuted for sharing kiddie porn, as can the girl sharing it.
Itâs happened. Or at least charges were brought to scare the kid or the family or something.
Iâve had to lay off two stable boys and a scullery maid.
Seems well handled. This is very similar to a plot point in Fleischman Is in Trouble
Seems like youâre handling it well. Iâm honestly amazed you have good enough communication with your kids for them to feel comfortable bringing it up. No chance I would have brought this up to my parents.
Yeah, I remembered that from Fleischman, although I think his daughter was at camp, whereas my boy must face the music back at school tomorrow.
My advice for him in carpool (two of the girls who have apparently witnessed his manhood are in our carpool) is to open with âSo, howâd yesterday go for everybody else?â
He got lucky, my kidsâ school has been sending out a ton of info on Sextortion and how its specifically targetting high school boys. There has been a rash of suicides from that age group specifically because of these sexstortion schemes going around. Glad he was able to come to you about it.
Yeah, thankfully it was, according to him, a not well-composed still photo.
My #1 goal as a parent has been to foster an environment where my kids know they can come to me if theyâre in trouble and I will help them, even if the conduct that got them in trouble is not something of which I would approve. So Iâm feeling good about that today.
In the near future, we might just end up chatting with a real person when we do a Google search
