If we accept the reporting that US pressure led to the water being turned on in south Gaza, I think we can give Biden credit for accomplishing something.
A ground assault is happening no matter what and is arguably justified. Itād be pure foolishness to lay down in front of that bulldozer and accomplish nothing. So long as there are hostages who can be rescued, thereās going to be pressure to act as quickly as possible. What Biden can do is prevent Israel from acting upon itās worst impulses and doing something regrettable, but only if he maintains credibility by being sufficiently supportive in public.
