I think it is, yeah.

To be fair, for the US thatā€™s just pocket change.

True Republicans should see this as a chance to be annointed the House McCain.

Who will stun the world with their no vote?

At least until the next recount.

Yea hoping for those ones that went over to McCarthy to go back to NO when he thinks he has the others back in town to get 218

Basically gridlock, but even more gridlock and disfunction than normal.

did gaetz do something in particular or are they just mad at themselves for caving

No, my bad. Someone was retweeting the Costa thread individually but also retweeted a Costa post from earlier in the middle of it so I thought it was all a part of a single thread.

Gaetz is just being Gaetz. NOW theyā€™re disgusted with him? Gaetz is the fucking leopard, you idiots.

Suits and sneakers have been a lot more common in the last ten years. In some places itā€™s really common. I think a good portion has to do with the resale sneaker market and limited issue shoes that are often more expensive than even extremely high end dress shoes.

If you are into sneakers, and have to wear a suit all the time, what else can you do but combine the two. I also think the influence Silicon Valley has had on dress codes has helped pave the way to this reality too.

I donā€™t know that it is prevelant, but it is common enough to no longer shock me when I see it.

Also could all be David Lettermanā€™s fault.

I see lots of younger guys on the subway in Toronto do the sneakers and suit thing (20% of men under 40 probably) and a few older ones too. I assumed most switched to dress shoes when they got to the office, but I see a few who donā€™t. One is a semi socially awkward guy in our office.

Could they modify the social security act during reconciliation?

The only ways the debt ceiling is getting lifted are trillion dollar coin or with democratic votes in the House.

Democratic votes for a clean debt ceiling increase wonā€™t be a problem, the problem is whether McCarthy is willing and able to cross the FC.

If I have to look smarter in the office. Itā€™s often jacket, shirt, no tie, jeans sneakers.

Guy at my office wears thongs (ā€˜Flip-Flopsā€™ using the American parlance) under his work attire (maybe not suit but collared work shirt and slacks). Heā€™s fairly obese and I wonder if his feet donā€™t fit in shoes or something else circulation related?

I would have been very confused without this parenthetical.
