Jeffries should join in the spectacle by publicly declaring himself the “Presumptive Speaker” and occupying the Speaker’s office.

The Dems will vote in favor of raising the debt ceiling. They can only hold McCarthy hostage if he lets them. Which I suppose he might because the new rules say they can call a vote of no confidence.
Better have a lot of confidence that 5 Republicans are OK ending their careers.

McCarthy said Trump wants him to stay in the race and told him to bring an end to the House Republican disarray and pull the party together.
The former president “wants to see the Republicans united to be able to accomplish the exact things we said we’d do,” McCarthy said.
We’ll see what happens. We’ll see how it all works out.
