RNG actually might be a fair way to do it, the way it sounds like they might do it sound super dumb and bad for KC. Generating the result of Bills/Bengals=OK if really care that much about fairness. Picking a random KC game not to count by choosing a number 1-18 seems super bad.
Are you proposing using an RNG to pick the winner of Bills/Bengals, perhaps weighted by the results at the point of suspension? That seems…equally dumb?
Best idea I’ve seen is put 63 Bengals balls and 37 Bills balls in a hopper and pick one out, matching their respective win percentages when the game stopped.

They should take it to PKs. Progressively longer FGs until someone misses. BUF goes first since they were down.

Just to be clear, my proposal is just leave the standings as they are and shit happens who cares that its not 100% fair.
If they are going to insist on finding an alternative, weighted RNG the Bills Bengals seems as good an idea as any.to me. The NFL is supposedly proposing/mulling an RNG where KC randomly selects a number from 1-18 and loses the results of that game. That seems like an awful idea even within the RNG subset.

Any of the RNG solutions are really dumb.
Just treat it as a no contest and move on. Sometimes this shit happens but we shouldn’t be normalizing a way of manipulating standings that encourages more game cancellations. We accept cancellations in event of freak occurrences and move on with an imperfect standings board, that’s the best we can do.

According to the PFR WP generator - Cincy was 70% to win that game up 4, 1st and 10 on the BUF 48 with 6 minutes left in the first Q. I’m fine with any RNG that takes that into account.
Not counting a random game really screws KC. I think the guy who originally suggested that has walked it back.
Either act as game never happened (and go off win percentage) or resume the game. Anything else is super dumb.

If we get an official positive medical update soonish that he’s going to recover, why wouldn’t they resume the game if there’s enough time? Like everybody knows this is NFL Kabuki in response to the sports-hottake-industrial complex, nobody actually cares.

Agreed and Bills correctly decided that the Cinci game wasn’t worth playing. By chance, even though the cancelled Cinci game was on the road against a top notch opponent that decision happens to work to the Bills’ disadvantage when you use the common sense/rulebook of approach of just going to win %.
Oh well, that’s life. Bringing a RNG into the picture out of an abundance pity for the Bills is nonsensical and a dumb farce.
