He is consciously trying to talk fast here and does a passable job imo. Just a complete misunderstanding of what happens in a stroke. Speech and language processing seems to be moderately impaired and Iâd bet if one could have a patient one one one conversation with him it would be fine. His brain is just working faster than he can get out and he may have trouble keeping track of his grammatical place.
Itâs not like Senators need to make split second decisions that need to be communicated out with high precision instantly.
Contrast with Walker that doesnât even know what planet heâs on.

Just about puked looking at the Predictit odds of full GOP control. Itâs been real, democracy.
Looking pretty bleak but honestly I came to terms with it the morning aftee Super Tuesday and it was a hard week or so as all of the hope I had for this country drained out of me.
All that is left now is to watch it burn down and try and enjoy the show and hope we are wrong.

I agree, but with the caveat that how the debate plays on TV, in ads, and on social media over the next 3-5 days could move Oz to a 2-1 favorite or more.
I mean sure, itâs wildly wrong that women should have to consult their local politicians before getting healthcare, but on the other hand, did you hear John Fetterman say iz-lays instead of in-laws?

If you really want to be depressed, look at the 2024 Senate map.
Oh and the House is 100% never ever certifying another Democratic President, and the Senate is never ever confirming another Democratic judge. gg
i didnt watch the debate but Oz going from 52 to 67c on PI does seem like a big overreaction, the vast majority of people watching either already voted or are never changing their minds, normies dont watch senator debates in a midterm year.
Yep, the only chance (lol not even) to flip a seat red â blue is Florida. Dems have three extremely tough seats to defend (WV, MT, OH), and the GOP has another seven to target for blue â red flips (AZ, MI, NV, PA, WI, VA, ME).
Basically if the GOP gets to 51 this year, 60 is VERY much in play in 2024. If they get to 52 or 53, theyâre at least a flip if not a favorite to hit 60 in 2024. Their ceiling is probably 54 this year, 52 is a VERY possible outcome.
Probably the most likely course from here is:
2022: Dem presidency, GOP massive house edge, GOP 52-48 Senate
2024: GOP presidency, GOP loses a few seats but easily controls, GOP has 57-60 seats in the Senate
A fun thought experiment is: What do Trump/DeSantis do with a filibuster proof trifecta?
And by fun I mean fucking unbelievably nauseating.
I didnât watch either, I just saw clips, and I did think about buying Fetterman at 33-36% on PI. But thereâs one problem with this:
Itâs going to be cut up into ads that make it look even worse and plastered across prime time from now until 11/8.
One of the issues is that Fetterman takes a lot of long pauses, which makes it really easy to make him look bad. For example, in the opening statement, he says âGood night everybody!â in a closing the night tone instead of âGood evening!â in an opening the night tone. Then he pauses. The full clip is fine, no big deal.
Theyâre going to cut that right before his next sentence, which is going to sound like he actually stopped speaking there. The pause is longer than normal so the average person is going to think, âWow, heâs completely inept!â
There will be a lot of snippets that get cut up like that and theyâre going to frame him as being completely mentally incompetent to hold office.
And thatâs just the above-board version. The not-officially-sanctioned version is going to speculate about what drugs someone can be taking that cause strokes, and the damage they can do to the brain.
