He’s a Ted Cruz type. I don’t think he’s a true believer in any particular brand of conservativism any more than Cruz was. He’ll be whatever he needs to be to gain power, but it’s questionable that he has the charisma to get over the finish line. Cruz didn’t, at least so far.

I think he would have if you could have Cruz come after DeSantis. DeSantis, after all, didn’t invent the idea of sending refugees to liberal cities, Texas governor Abbot’s been doing that but with forewarning. DeSantis just evolved it by not telling anywhere where he was dropping the refugees off. The pattern is opportunists escalating. Cruz escalated when he was Texas AG. The problem with Cruz is that Senators don’t have executive power. He can’t really escalate by action.

imo Tulsi has zero reach or ground game beyond the Glenn Greenwald / Joe Rogan crowd of terminally online libertarian bros. You can’t run a realistic presidential campaign off of that.
