2022 Midterm Elections (Abandon hope all ye who enter here) butnahhh. or maybe?

right, the fertilized yet unimplanted egg might be a “baby” but it’s pretty hard to see how anyone can consider a human to be pregnant before implantation.

Well, people worried that destroying frozen embryos might violate anti-abortion statutes, and those are a lot farther from implantation than what we’re talking about.

yeah I get that, the legislators are going to write all sorts of insane shit precisely because their brains have been warped by this overton window shifting

that’s basically the point the tweet was trying to make, the people writing the laws don’t understand anything that’s actually happening and they’re not even trying to, they’re just plowing forward

Meh I’d go a step further and say that it doesn’t even matter if you term preventing implantation as abortion or not. You either support basic rights or you don’t

Right.

I would not have been 100% accurate if asked that question myself, but who gives a shit about the exact mechanism. This entire issue should be between the woman and the doctor of her choosing.

If someone told me that his campaign was being run by an undercover Dem operative, I could believe it. What a hilarious non-stop disaster. They couldn’t do a better job making him look like an out of touch elitist if they tried. Crudites? LMAO to 99% of people and 99.99% of undecided voters it’s a vegetable tray, dipshit.

If he had simply pronounced it CREW-dights it may have helped his poll numbers.

Well, sort of. I don’t really care what a Democratic politician thinks about that stuff, I care what policies they will support and what they’ll fight to protect. “I’m not a doctor or a scientist, but I support a woman’s right to choose, I support a woman’s right to access the full array of healthcare options regarding preventing a pregnancy or terminating it, and if elected I’ll fight any and every attempt to constrain them with all the powers of my office while also fighting to codify those rights.”

Politicians need to be able to deliver on the back end of that quote, not understand the medical/scientific details of how Plan B works.

Thank God, I thought it was a glitch in the matrix.

My French Canadian heritage mother basically said that the Catholic Church had brainwashed women of her mother’s generation and earlier that their duty to God was to have as many children as possible (she was 1 of 13 siblings and 15 total full term pregnancies for my grandmother).

Yet she still wanted a funeral mass.

Two truths and a lie.

That doesn’t make it any less of a stupid attack.

Don’t see Ryan winning. Put Vance in a bunker for 3 months and he wins easily.

So Fetterman and Kelly basically tied and Vance up by 8.

Seems about right.

The fact that ending an ectopic pregnancy is now considered an “abortion” in some states leads me to believe that they don’t think implantation is the beginning of life.

It’s always been an abortion. It’s a medical definition. Treating ectopic pregnancies were accidentally made illegal in part because lawmakers didn’t understand that.

lol Oz complaining about the cost of crudité is somehow both pretentious and basic AF at the same time

Is tequila a common crudité pairing?
