2022 Midterm Elections (Abandon hope all ye who enter here) butnahhh. or maybe?

Voting yes, but depends on the definition of “in play”.

:harold:

“In play” means there’s a reasonable chance, however slim. “Not in play” would mean that any perceived chance is an illusion and any effort on this race is a waste.

No. It just means the anti mastriano vote is a bit bigger than the anti-Oz.

Then yes of course it’s in play.

Anyone who voted no should go to Predictit and buy dollars for 77 cents.

Alaska had a primary where the the top four advance to a ranked choice general election. The third place finisher dropped out and Peltola actually finished fourth in the primary, which I’m sure will bother some if she wins.

I hate the California top two jungle primary. Top four leading to a ranked choice general has been my proposal, so I’m glad someone is doing it. Maybe someone in Alaska reads Unstuck.

At least we got this moment out of it:

Wow. Bartolo had gender reassignment surgery and got elected to Congress.

We are one degree of separation. Our friend grew up in DR and was close friends with BC growing up. He always said that when he made it he was going to whatever he wanted. The joke now is he ate everything he wanted. Still sees him on trips back to visit family in DR.

In the 3 minutes I hate-watched this last night I saw some old Republican Congresscritter get a called strike 3 on him. He turned around and looked like he was gonna take a swing at the ump. Was hilarious.

That was immediately followed by another Republican doing their best Pete Rose barrel through the catcher at a play at the plate. Honestly surprised it didn’t lead to more of a confrontation as she crushed whoever was catching for the Dems.

I’d be ejected in the first inning for beaning everyone in the dome

If you just do my patented riverman poll translation you’ll get a loose approximation of what’s actually going on. Just assign all non (D) responses to (R).

No you see we’re going to win over all those Persuadable Republicans by being just like Republicans but less so.

I’ve lost track. Which of these states has burning red state legislatures that are going to ignore results they don’t like anyway? Most of them? Or are they going to save that card for 2024?

They’re saving that for 2024, I think. The most problematic swing states for straight up riggage are Wisconsin, North Carolina and Arizona. Maybe PA.

The Supreme Court has a case now that might allow state legislatures to ignore the popular vote in assigning electors, if that happens it’s gg. And we’re relying on Gorsuch or Kavanaugh to save us.

PA is definitely on the list, but we’re currently crushing in the polls because the GOP picked the worst possible candidates for governor and senator.
