That’s likely true, and it may explain why Hindi is tied with Italian. Still, I think it’s remarkable how so many English speakers are taking an interest in Japanese and Korean which are only rarely taught in US high schools. Have to believe anime and kpop are playing a big role in this.

I think it really depends on how she dies. I am imagining her being poisoned in the night on the Royal Train. In that case, I would appreciate a sepeate thread to discuss murder suspects (allthough I confess that I already have my own theory).

I don’t think people are mad about the British Empire so much as thinking monarchies are stupid and pointless wastes of money. It’s 2022 and I am still technically the subject of a queen? Fuck off with that.

British empire and just monarchies in general. In a world of increasing wealth disparity they are an obvious target for animosity against the generationally wealthy.
