Yeah, if you gave people a dashboard indicator that displayed battery voltage, it would just confuse and mislead people.
I remember back in the 80’s you could buy 100-month batteries for your car, but it seems like those are gone and mostly it’s 42-month batteries on the shelf now. To find out if your battery is running on borrowed time you can open the hood and look at the date sticker–anything around 3.5 years should just be replaced. The warning is when you go out one semi-cool fall morning and the car turns over noticeably slower than you’re used to.
All I’m asking for is a flashing light that says “you can start me 10 more times before I’m useless”.
The alternative of “haha you’re stuck in a parking lot in Cincinnati, surprise!” is not great!
Baby, if you’ve ever wondered
Wondered whatever became of me
I’m broke down in a lot in Cincinnati, Cincinnati, with no battery
A long time ago, I had an RX-7 with this dash. Gave the car to my ex. Kind of miss it.
I think I’m on my 4th or 5th 36/96 month (3-year free replacement, 8-year total warranty) battery. I’m just over 3 years on this one and it’s going bad. This is some bullshit.
I currently drive a 2006 accord and my dream car is a 92 accord wagon, that thing is just <chef’s kiss>
The bulls finally won one.
I kind of want to know what Riverman does to be on top of all things Villages, but I’m also afraid to find out.
Meh I had already seen that tweet in my feed
If it was just that one thing, it wouldn’t have raised an eyebrow. But he also posts some hilarious articles from that paper from time to time.
Everyone should have one of these in their glove compartment. They’re also useful when someone needs a jump in a place that’s not easily accessible for another car.
I’ve got one, but the leak is that you have to remember to keep it charged, which I pretty much don’t. Assuming I’m thinking of the same device as what you’re talking about.
One web crawler for The Villages and one for Crypto, It’s Bad, Mmmkay.
Lawless weekend (with lots of drunk driving) at the Villages
