The best is the follow up comments, where she asks the DEA and paperwork lists the ER diagnosis as “fentanyl exposure” as if that means anything.
I’ve had some interesting conversations with cops about this in the ER. They’re pretty nonplussed when I tell them I’m not going to test them for fentanyl and are instead going to do a syncope work up. The best is when they demand a drug screen and I tell them that if it’s positive it’s not from whatever happened in the field. No one has ever gotten a drug screen the 5 or so times I’ve had this.
I hate that this word is used incorrectly so frequently that I now assume that it’s wrong every time I see it. Even when it seems like it is used correctly (like in this post), I’m still only 70% sure.
LOL this is great. There’s a couple more in the replies, too.

How much of a loser do you have to be to work at Disney’s S&P?
I guess most of it is S&P justifying its existence with these ticky-tack complaints
I don’t know all the legal details, but I suspect that the former is probably not covered by whatever law they were trying to apply.
Still surprised that DOJ lost. They normally don’t go to trial unless they’re damn sure they’re going to win.
I’m with you on this 100%. However, I’m sure we’re a few years away from OED accepting the opposite as an acceptable usage. Much like “literally” can now mean figuratively.
Widepsread and repeated misusage is a tough beast to slay.
Garner’s Modern English Usage, which is fantastic and my go-to for things like this, says the following:
Since the 1990s there has arisen a mystifying notion that nonplussed is essentially synonymous with its near-antonym unfazed. That is a nonplussing misperception.
He characterizes this confusion as a Stage 2 on his language-change index, where the stages are as follows:
Stage 1: Rejected
Stage 2: Widely shunned
Stage 3: Widespread but …
Stage 4: Ubiquitous but …
Stage 5: Fully accepted
So Devil is not S&P approved? Fuck them.
Maybe he’s right about that particular cereal sucking, but he seems like an overall cereal HATER, so I’m not placing too much weight on this review.
God this is so absurd and, of course, a lie
Lie isn’t the right word. Seinfeld jokes aside, they really do believe they overdosed
I guess the only pushback I’ve seen on it is on Twitter, but that is consistent and goes back a while. Every one of these idiotic, dramatic panic episodes is followed by unrelenting replies from people (including MDs, take their blue check as you will) telling them they’re full of shit, linking information debunking their bullshit claims about fentanyl etc. My tolerance for cop bullshit is nil, so I am resigned to lifelong agitation surrounding LE.
EDIT: If the Uvalde cowards tried to float “we heard the shooter might have fentanyl on him”, basically saying they were more terrified of that airborne menace than an assault rifle designed to kill humans, I would not exactly fall out of my chair. Those traps are shut for months now though, blue brothers in solidarity of killing civilians/allowing civilian death.
Nocebo is a helluva drug.
That is basically how I react to any sugary processed cereal.
Jazz legend Kenny G has teamed up with Death Metal band Imperial Triumphant on their latest single Merkurius Gilded, adding a bit of sax to the mix amongst their ghoulish growls and pounding drums.
Estimated reading time: 2 minutes
Just checked it out. Not really my thing, but Kenny G just randomly showing up bumps it up a few notches.
Gas station manager set the wrong price of gas to $.69 instead of $6.99. Customers start calling everyone they know. Hundreds of cars go and fill up without telling anyone for three hours. Amazing country.
Wouldn’t fire the manager for making the mistake, but not noticing for 3 hours when you have lines? Uhhhh are you high?
