2022 LC Thread—New Year, New Thread

I like the completely sober, factual tone of this piece while it’s writing stuff like “well of course you can only have a twin flame relationship if your soul got split in half at the soul factory”.

Thanks Obama!

It’s because of the ship full of hotel rooms stuck in the Suez Canal.

Seems that people are catching up on lost time when it comes to travelling and the industry is trying to make up for lost profits of the past.

Toss on top of that the inflation rate and increased rents/cost of travel/everything and shit gets expensive.

On the other hand, Turkey has an inflation rate of 73% which makes it an ideal place for international travel. Super cheap!

or the fact it’s perfectly describing codependence almost 1:1 and romanticizing it like it’s a good thing, no wonder most relationships suck. i truly hope i dont have a “twin flame” because we almost certainly would murder each other

I lost weight the hard way. I object to people getting a free ride by using drugs. jk, have at it

I think in theory what it’s trying to describe isn’t codependence, but in practice this entire idea of another person who will “complete you” in some sense is going to lead to codependence about 99.9% of the time.

I also agree that a lot of what appears in magazines called things like “Brides” is romanticizing codependence.

I saw a YouTubez about all those skinny towers the other day. Most of them are half empty.

Of course. Those flats exist solely for money laundering. No need to live in them.

Same thing with apartment buildings in dictatorships like UAE, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.

Generally true although some buyers were complaining about stuff like noise and sued the builders. So some people actually do want to live there at least once in a while.

Anyone have any good tips/tricks about back pain? I pretty much never have back problems but this afternoon I guess I pulled a lower right back muscle and I’m pretty fucked up, can’t bend over much at all without excruciating pain. Took 3 ibuprofens and have ice packs chilling to use, not sure what else people do.

use a heating pad. foam roller. do the couch stretch. i also use a tennis ball and massage the back against a door jam.

good luck.

Prescription ibuprofen is 400-800 mg. That’s all I’ll say as I’m not a doctor.

When I see patients with acute back pain, as long as they don’t have fever, problems going to the bathroom, leg weakness or sensation loss in the groin, I send them home with motrin (~600mg 3x a day) and tylenol (1000mg 3x a day), sometimes a lidocaine patch that you can get OTC. Time is usually needed more than anything.
