Lots of places do weird relative geography. Montreal-Est is roughly where you’d expect to find it, but Montreal-Nord is on the Ouest side of the island. Westmount is south of the mountain and Montreal West is even further south.
Central Massachusetts means Worcester, Western Mass means the Connecticut River valley, and the substantial portion of the state further west than that is barely considered part of Massachusetts at all.
There are parts of Virginia that are further west than any part of West Virginia, and Wilmington, NC is further south than 1/3rd of South Carolina. The Dakotas seem to be just about the only place that got named without ambiguity.
A personal favorite of mine:
If you’re traveling along this coastal freeway heading in a direction that is objectively north, you are on I-580 westbound and I-80 eastbound at the same time.

Highways like that are never re-signed even if they are temporarily going the ‘wrong’ direction. That’s why you get that weirdness with one highway being south and the other being north on the same stretch of road

US Route 4 is signed East/West in VT and NH, but North/South in NY.

Interesting I didn’t know there were exceptions (there aren’t for Interstates I’m pretty sure). It is an even road, so it should be east west.
At one point the wife and I were on an Interstate in this situation. She was driving and I was mapping out the route on my phone and she asked me which way to go and I said go over there and turn right to get on the Interstate heading north. To which she replies (paraphrasing) “You are the dumbest person in the whole world moron, right from here goes south stupid, you can’t even work Google Maps, why do I have to do everything, I’m turning left!” In about 5 minutes we were obviously going the wrong way, so she stopped and figured out how to turn around and get us back on track.
Naturally she was very apologetic and readily admitted her error and was very good natured about the whole thing.
LOL! That is not what happened at all of course, we enjoyed a very pleasant hour of seething silent rage. The dog just kept looking at me out of the corner of her eye wondering if she was going to kill us. Marriage is fun.

That’s what happens when you let women drive.
My wife is a much better driver than I am. She has a stubborn streak though, which is tremendous fun for both of us.
LA has some weird freeway stuff like that. If you’re coming in from the 60 east of LA and know you need to get to Santa Monica on the I-10, you might think - well I’ll just jog over to I-10 now to be safe. Wrong.
The 60 basically is the 10. They just decided to name it funny. At one point I-10, one the greatest interstates in the country, is reduced to a one lane exit to get back to itself. Sad.
Another sign that drives me nuts is where I-5 meets I-10, just the two major interstates that run through LA, the sign doesn’t say East or West I-10. Just 10 - San Bernardino and 10 - Santa Monica. But thankfully it’s not like LA ever gets people in from out out town, or people who just moved here from other countries and might not know those two cities.

The cause of SIDS hasn’t been pinpointed. It’s rather weak evidence of a biomarker that suggests a cause.
This article has been all over reddit and twitter suggesting basic safety things to prevent SIDS aren’t needed because it’s an enzyme issue dontchaknow. Super frustrating.
