I’ve heard of that as being an old Italian superstition.
I am aware of the good luck bird poop thing but I don’t think it’s ubiquitous.
Legitimately never heard of this “good luck bird poop” in my life.
I have learned from my zoo shows that koala’s are nasty stinky little creatures.

It was banned in Canada/Australia as it was more appealing to young people, idk if that was whatever the USA reasoning is.

I’m not putting it in the fine dining thread because I don’t have specific comments about what I ate, but I’m in Houston right now and just had one of the best meals I’ve eaten in a long time at Le Jardinier.
What I had (description from the menu):
- PAN-SEARED HALIBUT, CHICKPEA PUREE, FRESH PEA FALAFEL, SNAP PEAS
- VALRHONA GUANAJA DARK CHOCOLATE CRÉMEUX, SALTY CARAMEL SABAYON
Just phenomenal.
