Super quick review says Chiefs did 5 in a row their SB year and the year before.
does it really matter how your qb plays when your defense gets beaten as bad as NE did yesterday?
no level of qb play is helping that.
Glad you realized your mistake @tabbaker. If you can calmly explain why Iām wrong, Iād love to hear it.
The Eagles and the Falcons were the only teams not to have beaten a team to make the playoffs.
The Jets have beaten 2 still alive.
Rookie QBs go to decent teams all the time. They often get sit behind someone established because winning as a rookie QB is hard AF.
Same year, Luck went 11-5 with a team that won 2 games the season prior.
Lamar Jackson went 6-1 but ravens were a better team
Itās not as hard as you think when they play for a decent team with a weak schedule. This isnāt hard man, they were 7-9 last year with a harder schedule with a complete negative at QB. Having any QB that can throw a 21st century-style forward pass would be an upgrade. They added a bunch of guys. Itās a reasonably talented team!
won at least 12 every year with peyton before he gets hurt, then goes full shit, then goes back up
now theyāre not sure what to do at QB b/c they didnāt just get the #1 pick during the once a decade generational talent into their laps
Dak went 13-3
Not a full season, so Iām going to not count it.
Should count Luck though
man I didnāt realize dak was a rookie then thought it was year 2. nope, full rookie
yeah that narrative is bunk now
but some guys do struggle early or have games they just struggle as a rookie. or like Josh Allen still really suck for 2 years.
things are complicated
I think the Sanchize did it too.
8-7 but ended up AFC title game
So if Rex Ryan and Jason Garrett can make the playoffs with a Rookie QB, I think itās safe to leave that line off the Bill Belichick Hagiography.
Similar throwback, Matt Ryan was 11-5.
Look at the guys weāve identified so far: Ben, Russ, Luck, RGIII and Mac Jones.
One of those guys is not like the other. First three are all top tier. RGIII probably would have been if Shanny didnāt let him get murdered. And weāve got Mac Jones.
Now if in the next few years Mac Jones turns into Brady, Iāll eat my words. But having a winning team with Mac Fucking Jones at the helm is really, really hard.
Edit: Just saw Dak and Sanchize. Dak is actually good. Sanchize, now thatās impressive. Gotta give Rex Ryan credit for that.
aikman āthe way the eagles played against good teams all yearā is promising
they lost all of them and mostly got beaten down doing so
Sanchize. Flacco. Andy Dalton. The list of rookie QBs that made the playoffs is longer and less distinguished than you think.
others rookie wins
Joe Flacco 10, Kyle Orton 10 (man would not have guessed Orton and Iām a bears fan)
