Rookie QBs go to decent teams all the time. They often get sit behind someone established because winning as a rookie QB is hard AF.
Same year, Luck went 11-5 with a team that won 2 games the season prior.

Itās not as hard as you think when they play for a decent team with a weak schedule. This isnāt hard man, they were 7-9 last year with a harder schedule with a complete negative at QB. Having any QB that can throw a 21st century-style forward pass would be an upgrade. They added a bunch of guys. Itās a reasonably talented team!

but some guys do struggle early or have games they just struggle as a rookie. or like Josh Allen still really suck for 2 years.

So if Rex Ryan and Jason Garrett can make the playoffs with a Rookie QB, I think itās safe to leave that line off the Bill Belichick Hagiography.

Look at the guys weāve identified so far: Ben, Russ, Luck, RGIII and Mac Jones.
One of those guys is not like the other. First three are all top tier. RGIII probably would have been if Shanny didnāt let him get murdered. And weāve got Mac Jones.
Now if in the next few years Mac Jones turns into Brady, Iāll eat my words. But having a winning team with Mac Fucking Jones at the helm is really, really hard.
