Really not sure how Markey has been recast as a progressive torch bearer. I get that he was the senate sponsor for the Green New Deal, which was pretty cool. But he’s been in congress since 1976 and that’s the only notable thing he has ever done.
Hey, to get where we’re trying to go we have to accept moderates getting on board. I’m all for shaming moderates when they’re corporate whores, but when they join the team they need to be welcomed.
I think it’s mostly the Green New Deal, and also his race is getting spun as a proxy fight between AOC and Pelosi, so I think the progressives feel that the stakes are higher.

Right. Clearly, we see the risk of supporting something like the Green New Deal that is a ldo thing that government should be doing. You get primaried by a legitimate candidate who is supported by Pelosi despite her “never supporting challenges to incumbents.” Challenge an anti-abortion, gun rights loser in TX, feel the wrath of Pelosi. Challenge someone who supports the Green New Deal and watch her break decades of her own tradition to support you.
So there’s good reason to support Markey just for this. You cannot let the center pick off people who support progressive ideas, period.
Hopefully Markey wins and the dam breaks as fear of Nancy fades and it becomes apparent progressives can win without her.
She SUCKS.
lmao, Issa is still tweeting about this. he’s tweeted about it a few times since I posted the initial one.

It’s been 2000+ days since Issa received the endorsement of Putin. He STILL has not disavowed that support.
Why the hell would a Dem ever have to disavow Warren’s support anyway?
I’m assuming todays races were mostly mail-in voting? So no results tonight, correct?
which is why Issa’s fixation on this is so weird and stupid.

I assume they have most ballots already and races that aren’t close can be called.
Results just started trickling in on NYT. Markey up by 41 votes!
I’d rather be Markey too, a lot higher chance that natural causes allows him to avoid the next ten years of whatever the fuck project we’ve got going on here.
Not looking good at all for Morse. He’s losing his home city with 1/3rd of the precincts in. He’s the mayor.
He’s also miles behind in Springfield, which is by far the largest city in the district.
Morse gonna get smoked, though. Oh well.
