Yeah this is the trajectory the Republicans went down. Difference is, further right is better for (and backed by) monied interests, further left is worse. There will always be way more resistance to a move left.
Probably means we should worry less about going too far.
Oh absolutely.
Not just that, when it comes to what people will like as policy, right-left is a mirage. Everybody has idiosyncratic beliefs, there’s no real spectrum that anybody thinks about when evaluating these things. Just promote what you want – don’t worry about where it lies on an imaginary line, figure out how to make it compelling to different audiences.
Also, there is value in intentionally going too far. It’s like anchor pricing. A stalking horse says how about we nationalise medicine? You come back with how about just m4a and look centrist and reasonable.
ROFL but way more realistic than Bernie or Warren
Lol, former 2+2 poster getting into twitter war with, and completely clowning on, former gop governor. What a world.

Yep. The Senate is getting more and more conducive to minoritarian rule. Republicans picked up state legislature seats and will gerrymander, there are more and more judges in courts prepared to approve gerrymandering. This election was a massive disaster for the Dems and for America because it’s so unclear what is ever going to arrest this slide. The GOP were able to turn out new voters and there are cracks forming in the Dem racial coalition. It looks pretty bleak.

fck yeah jim u rock
Progressive Punch says otherwise.
This is totally fine because of norms and procedures and whatnot.
Man the honeymoon was over quickly. First the win on Saturday, then the immediate attacks on the left by centrists and now I start believing that Biden is President once they voted in January.
Yeah it lasted about 8 hours for me lol. I woke up sunday like WAAF and annoying people still trying to enjoy the high before we went back to dispair.
Fucking sucks man.
UP 1 year ago: WAAF, Trump is a favorite for re-election.
UP Now: Trump defeated in resounding victory, Biden wins all Clinton states + the midwest + Arizona and Georgia, WAAF.
Well we’ve mostly been right.
What do you think were saying is wrong?
Complain Until You Die would be a good title for something.
Then again, betting sites are currently predicting a ~15% chance of the end of democracy. Seems bad.
That is insane. Real odds are something like 0.005%. I think I’ll be putting some money on this.
