The other thread would hit 10k posts midgame tomorrow, CFB is over and the playoffs are ramping up. I figure this is a good time for a new OP.
Cleveland Browns +2989 to ship, +10.5 @ KC
The Cleveland Browns ended the longest playoff drought in the NFL. They then proceeded to smash their hated rival, the Stealers, despite allowing a rapist to throw for 500 yards. It is likely that this will go down as the single greatest day in Cleveland this century.
Baker Mayfield has games where he looks great, even if he frequently misses wide open easy passes. They’ve got two excellent RBs and a defense that will probably get destroyed by Mahomes.
Los Angeles Rams +2113, +7 @ GB
Fuck the Rams; Jared Goff sucks; Aaron Donald is a superhuman. They have a great defense and the offense frequently scores enough to win because of coaching. Hopefully the Packers can save us from any more painfully boring Rams games. It’s not like LA even cares about this game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +829, +3 @ NO
Tom Brady and Gronk are back and paired up with a decent defense. I don’t really know anything else about this team other than that they are extremely inconsistent and score a lot of points against bad Ds. They destroyed the Packers 38-10, but lost twice to the Saints by a 72-26 margin. Nobody wants to see Brady get another ring. Hopefully the Brady/NO D matchup is more interesting than the last two times.
Baltimore Ravens +688, +2.5 @ BUF
The Ravens are a balanced team, with the 7th ranked offense and 8th ranked defense by DVOA. Lamar Jackson is a unique threat, averaging 95 ypg rushing over the last 6 games, but only 184 ypg through the air this year. They’ve won 6 in a row against mostly inferior competition and were able to totally shut down the Titans’ offense, holding 2000-yard rusher Derrick Henry to 2.2ypc.
New Orleans Saints +591, -3 vs TB
The Saints are carried by their defense and have enough talent at WR and RB to make their bizarre QB platoon of an old man and a TE work. Brees has been efficient all year with short passes and actually started occasionally throwing longer balls after returning from breaking most of his ribs. He’s also managed to refrain from promoting any organizations that practice gay conversion therapy this year.
Buffalo Bills +547, -2.5 vs BAL
Dom was right, Josh Allen is elite. Dude has balled out all year, I thought that he was mediocre and inaccurate but he’s really put it together. Adding Stefon Diggs allowed Allen to play to his strengths and they connected for a league-leading 1535 yards.
Bills and Browns fans deserve some happy moments and the Bills are the much more entertaining of the two, so I’m pulling for them this year. The Bills are going to score points, it should come down to their ability to shut down Lamar.
Green Bay Packers +412, -7 vs LAR
Godgers is the MVP, Davante Adams is insane and they are free of FAT MIKE’s sabotage. I haven’t watched much of the Packers lately because they’ve mostly been rolling everyone. I seem to recall their defense sucking at the start of the year, but the scores lately indicate otherwise. The Packers are good and will likely provide an entertaining Super Bowl. Please beat the fucking Rams.
Kansas City Chiefs +189, -10.5 vs CLE
The defending champs, the Chiefs have a trash defense and an offense that doesn’t give a fuck. Mahomes, Kelce and Hill are unstoppable, Andy Reid is a great coach and they find a way to win close games. DVOA is down on the Chiefs, but the betting markets love them. Regardless of who is right, the Chiefs are a fun team to watch and should provide some amazing games (or one really amazing game if they lose to the Browns).
Bills @ Chiefs
Saints @ Packers
Bills vs Packers
Bills (probably not but I can hope)
