Me too lol
Marginal taxes are hard. bahbah not understanding that as a financial advisor is top 10 2p2 but way under the wil prop bet. I got into an argument with a hs friend who is a surgeon now about it and almost had him into a $1k prop bet on whether he actually paid 50% in taxes and then he deleted his comments and never really has talked to me again.
Literally marginal taxes should be taught i school. By middle school the math should be standard. Also paying a mortgage, payroll taxes etc.
What even is the definition anymore? There has been polling on this question, hereâs Gallup:
HarrisX/The Hill:
As far as Iâm concerned the correct definitions there are âGovernment ownership or control, government ownership of utilities, everything controlled by the government, state control of businessâ and âGovât ownership of some parts of the economyâ but clearly that isnât how the word gets used these days. I donât think either Bernie or AOC, self described socialists, are proposing mass nationalization of utilities if they take power.
Itâs âgiving black people money so they can go to protestsâ now.
Iâm not sure if there is specific context Iâm missing but w/e
Thatâs a huge mistake. Biden needs like a virtual inauguration. The alternative is no democrats showing up becasue we donât want to die, and lots of magaturds showing up to protest.
Considering 1/3 of eligible voters didnât vote, it seems thereâs a lot of potential votes to be gained by running on popular programs like M4A, instead of trying to win the votes of parler users. That would mean moving left thoughâŚ
I wasnât arguing the inverse. It doesnât matter what we run on, weâre fucked no matter what.
Powell was one of general flynnâs lawyers, so the idiots who have three stars on their twitter profile and sympathetic to flynn are all-in with Powell.
I imagine Powellâs claim that Collins should be in the runoff instead of Loeffler is not the message that anyone in GOP power circles wants trending now.
Itâs not either or. And understanding what is going on over there in an anthropological way has no downsides.
Welcome to the internet. Like I agree but everywhere else I look at on the interwebs is like 5 times worse for this.
âNo M4Aâ was to win comfortable moderates in the suburbs, not MAGA cultists. Biden did put up good margins in the suburbs, but you could make the case that he sacrificed more votes with other groups by not running harder left. Itâs possible the âother groupsâ include the âVenezuela is changing votesâ set, but I doubt it. Maybe something can reach them; but their votes shouldnât be core to any Dem electoral strategy.
There are some people who legitimately come on here and ask questions about stuff they donât know, but we mostly have full-formed narrative frameworks and arenât going to accept arguments that donât fit within those narratives.
My views sometimes feel complicated because they donât quite fit into any of the established boxes in American politics. Iâm not a socialist and Iâm not a mainstream liberal and Iâm not a moderate or centrist, but I am definitely somewhere on the left. I find this place useful for figuring out how to describe what I am for.
These are the people i have a hardest time talking to. I know at least four trumpers who are for single payer of some sort and vote republican. Same on the environment and war.

I think its better to think of it as âworkerâ ownership of business, means of production, etc. I think âgovernment takeover of the economyâ is probably more if a scare tactic framing than anything theoretical.
Most people donât have the time, necessary ability to understand and interest to research hundreds of issues.
