It’s just so ridiculous. People who identify as “communist” are probably markedly less “woke” than Kamala Harris voters by any definition of “woke” that idiots like that would use.

There was a clip of Talarico handling it well. He said (paraphrasing) - Trans people are not causing your costs to rise. Trans people are not trying to take away your healthcare. They aren’t the 1% you should be focused on. The 1% richest people are the problem.

Applying the term “woke fringe" instead of just using the terms that the respondents actually used in the poll is terrible from an actual data science pov and is pretty clearly being done to make those positions less appealing (b/c ~ 0% of people would actually unironically want to be part of the woke fringe) and to make their “study" go more viral on social media.

It’s much easier after the fact but I’d feel pretty confident that Bernie would have outperformed Kamala and picked up a more of the youth, the sexists, the non voters and those who vote based on economic principles which I think is still the most underrated principle by a mile. Mandani ran pretty hard and was very specific on the economic issues and he wafflecrushed. Obviously that doesn’t fully carryover to the general but people like the specifics.
But without Bernie, I don’t think anyone was beating Trump and a decrepit Biden was probably their best chance.
Maybe you should talk to Simp because he seems to think that if only the “woke fringe” would have kept their mouths shut, Kamala would have won.
It’s hard to run Bernie after Biden dropped out due to age. I’m not sure who the true leftist candidate would be in an open primary if Biden had dropped out earlier.
i think the short campaign probably helped her more than hurt her. vibes were all time high there for awhile until she started doing republican shit.

Simp can have his own takes and I don’t really know what they are but assume it’s that the dems shouldn’t move too far left. If that is the case, I think he has a point and if you’re going to move in that direction, you better be pretty damn concrete and specific on how you are going to go about helping families and their living arrangements over anything else.
Do you think AOC beats out Bernie or even Kamala? The guy isn’t viable anymore, so it doesn’t matter but the dude was very likely picking up a % of the working-class populists and the anti-establishment crowd. He had the “hope and change” that wasn’t just more ideological drivel that a lot of people get turned off from.

He’s very very upset by trans rights, that’s for sure. He’s enraged that someone dares ask him to respect their pronouns. He’s obsessed with who is playing sports that he’s never watched in his life.
Despite the fact that it doesn’t even show up as a major political issue:
he’s convinced that trans people and any Dumbocrat who hasn’t affirmatively spoken against trans rights is why people elected the evil idiot game show host.

I’m not really following but yes we’ve been over something like this before. I quoted a post of you saying that Kamala was horrible, and I think she was extraordinarily lackluster and that Bernie would have been better. My point again is that if you move left I think it should be heavily focused on economic issues - like the I’m seeing now with a graph above me now (but maybe there is some gotcha there idk)
Point being, Mandami and Bernie seemed good at that and both seemed to have been popular with getting people interested.
