How is it different from a leader board in golf?
It’s the first sport I’ve ever seen where they show the overall standings based on an early lead in one game.
It’s not that confusing, the table includes the current scores of the ongoing games.
It’s one of those that when you don’t get it, it’s time to reset, rethink and try to look at with fresh eyes.
Just requires using a different perspective.

MLB did it a ton the last day of the 2011 regular season when the various scores were changing the playoff picture literally by the minute. NFL will sometimes schedule games in the last day and at least talk about “if the current scores hold”.
It’s because of the simultaneous last games of the group.
Hopefully not a repeat of the Wales 2h. Iran definitely having a bit more success going forward here.
