You don’t even boil your oats?
The labor market for people to carry them is too competitive.
I’m not really an expert on this stuff, but I would try to cram some extra fiber in there. Do you like hummus? Maybe hummus instead of salami for snacks? I would also say something like a fiber powder additive in the smoothie/shake might help with cholesterol.
Yeah I can eat hummus. The salads provide fiber right? I have at least one pretty explosive bowel movement a day. So I figure that’s working.
To help with cholesterol you need soluble fiber. Your explosive poops are likely caused by insoluble fibers, unfortunately.
Good cholesterol, bad cholesterol, good fiber, bad fiber. Why is everything so damn complicated?
I blame the globalists, subscribe to my YouTube channel for 95 minute videos on this topic with special guest Jordan Peterson.
I hear atorvastatin works lol
I think I can add soluble fiber to my protein shake and cereal in the morning. Yes I know it’s no substitute for a healthy diet. But I already have a pretty healthy diet!
Oh yeah - I add flaxseed to my protein shake. Is that the right kind of fiber?
FYI all dietary fiber is actually good, I think, but some makes you poop real good and some binds to cholesterol via some molecular magic or something. I don’t really know that much about it but this is something that comes up in my medicals and my family health history. I know my mom used to drink the soluble fiber drinks from the drug store to help fix cholesterol. My doctor’s office had a nutrition consultation and they were saying that my regular consumption of lentils and beans was good because my cholesterol trended high.
The internet says flaxseed is soluble fiber. So that’s good.
Useful info ITT.
I’ve been eating lots of fruit and veg, but not much that is high in soluble fiber. Going to add a few different things to my diet.
The Barkley Marathons have ended without any finishers, again.
Week 7. Weight flat/slightly up.
Activity has been good, steady increases in my workouts and a lot more walking. However I’ve been eating a lot more rice meals instead of meat and veg or salads, so I think that’s the main difference.
Need to ensure I have fresh groceries and ingredients in the house every day. This will make the healthier eating a bit easier.
Just found out I have a torn meniscus. Anyone have experience with this type of injury?
I’ve had one. Have one still I suppose. I chose no surgery. Mine wasn’t getting stuck on anything, so I did some rehab and was good after
Going on four months of rest, meds, and treatment with no signs of improvement.
Is the problem pain, restricted motion, both? I tore my ACL in the mid 90s and have never had reconstruction or any surgical procedure for that matter. I assume there must be some meniscus damage as it can get a bit crunchy in certain positions (e.g., full squat) which I try to avoid, but I don’t have any pain or motion restriction unless I do something stupid that pops my knee out (which is practically never).
Time to get an eval from an orthopedic surgeon then. Surgery might help, but it’s a controversial area.
