I’ve been so responsive to my Dad with all his corona virus fears that now he’s pushing his luck with his daily random computer confusions.
“Hey it’s your dad _____ urgent or anything I know your work so you know if they can call me back right away but I __ _ computer problems here uh this morning I went to a axis of Google news as usual the link and it brought me to totally white screen with the blue circle going around around _____ the ____ what I do I can’t get on lock from that I can access where I can re-redo it you know turned off and on again um I can shut it down on the right side and brings me it with the button there and it brings me back to my home screen sign and when I sign in there _ gets me right back to the white screen with the blue circle and I did try rebooting the whole thing by pulling _ modem __ ____ the wall jack in and putting it back in that didn’t change anything so I may have to bring it into my computer guys but it’s __________ totally locked on the white blank screen with the _ ____ on around that’s where __ _ so when you get a chance today or this evening it’s not like I have to have a computer you know use it for any particular reason today so if you get back to me this evening let me know if you know anything I can do that I haven’t tried appreciate it hope all is well there with you um taken care yourself and talk to you __________________…”
He has a laptop but he only knows how to take it to “his computer guy” where they charge him and arm and a leg. I bought the laptop for him, stripped off all the crapware and dumbed it down to the Windows 8 interface he was used to. But then the computer guy had to wipe it out and put on latest windows and he got all lost again.
He has lots of friends and I’ve tried to explain to him he could take the laptop to them and they could look at it. But I don’t think he understands laptops are portable. Like you need all kinds of special wires and things to use them. Or at least his. I’m sure he realizes other people are on laptops.

This is old, but in light of Coronavirus igniting my fears of ever stepping outside again, I’m sad I will not be consuming as much of their coffee as possible.
I assume he loses by 5 points (a guesstimate of how much more red MT is than 2 years ago w/trump on the ballot) but maybe this upcoming market/coronavirus debacle will get him in.
Still, improves the odds of flipping the senate.

HSI badged cops outside our building in Seattle, 5 or 6 jeeps have a small car boxed in with two white folks handcuffed. Looks like they pulled a few guns out of the car. Wonder if it will make the news…

Presumably Homeland Security Investigations, the agency that is tasked with national security issues as part of ICE. A different agency handles immigration enforcement.
