LGBT+ communities are explicitly and pervasively targeted by capitalists selling hippie dippie bullshit. Yoga (Bikram amongst others), crystals, essential oils, homeopathy, lots of Asian medicine, wiccan garbage etc. have all been pink and gay washed. These practices get coopted from women and minority communities and then get reshaped and sold back to them.

Yeah I go to gay events and there are infinite snakeoil booths advertising me gay-friendly reiki and sound bowl yoga classes but itâs all in my head sure.

I sometimes forgot what a conservative stronghold I live in because I donât associate much with conservatives. Then I travel and see this and I quickly remember there is a sane world out there somewhere.
I was a convert, more or less. I was never a very good orthodox Christian though. I no longer consider myself Christian now, fwiw.

I think you just mean that Yoga as a vaguely-new-agey health practice was popularized starting around that time, and brought to the west by spiritualists. And also that the popular version is only tangentially connected to Indian culture or Hinduism. Thatâs true, but I wouldnât say that it was a rich white euro lady who created Yoga.
Iâve known some Hindus who think western Yoga is an offensive form of cultural/religious appropriation, but they would be even more annoyed by someone saying that westerners created it.

Russia wouldnât play ball in cutting production in face of the Corona Virus wreaking demand, so they just dropped the price massively sending things spinning.
