The impression I get is that these finance guru guys really are like spin class teachers: they don’t really tell you anything you don’t know, but some people need a kick in the pants now and then.
There are still a lot of places even in the US that are food deserts and that’s part of the reason some choose fast food
This entire county is food desert even though they provide groceries to other parts of the world they don’t have their own fresh grocery store
And this doesn’t just happen in random country areas, many parts of Chicago’s south side are considered food deserts too
No one calls it McDo. If you want to shorten it, McD’s is how. Also, give us some credit at least and talk about Wendy’s.
If I can reach a point in life where I can always comfortably hold in a dump long enough to get to a toilet that covers like half of it.
I’m a creature of basically infinite ambition. I’m sure once I achieve all my current goals I’ll just set new ones. This is exactly as demotivating as it sounds now that I’m on to myself.
A goal I achieved long ago was to be able to go eat sushi whenever the fuck I wanted without worrying about money… so I’m definitely not who Dave Ramsey is talking to lol.
I prefer McDoohhhh
Let’s put it this way… the current top of the mountain dream is to make 1M a year. I’m a long way from it yet, but it’s definitely not impossible from a 5 year perspective if some stuff breaks my way.
It’s literally all a game. People told me adulthood was going to be harder than childhood, but they couldn’t have been more wrong. Things have been getting easier for me every year since I turned 15 or so.
Need to have kids in the next few years too. My wife turns 30 this June.
another thing that makes this conversation kinda hard is that someone that lives in germany has access to a lot of stuff that only the super wealthy have access to in the us. Like to get to where you have decent healthcare and five weeks of vacation (plus a slew of holidays) in the us, you either have to work for a place for decades or do extremely well with your own business. so when people in the us talk about stuff like recharging, that simply doesn’t translate.
Utah moving forward as always
Not sure what the legal implications would be given how tied some of our laws are to “marriage”, but hey as far as I’m concerned if a bunch of truly consenting* adults want to all get married that’s fine with me.
*in practice, I assume there’s a ton of abuse involved in these types of arrangements
But I’ll be damned if I’m gonna give up porn for it.
Tesla is somehow trading at 75% of the market cap of Toyota. Or like 15% of the market cap of Amazon.
I agree in principal but among fundamentalist Mormons polygamy is rarely between adults. It’s adult men marrying underage women.
Yeah I suspect they aren’t going to stop cracking down on the FLDS. This is probably a move designed to make it easier to separate the victims from their abusers truthfully. People keeping their polygamy secret has to make figuring out what else is going on exponentially more difficult. I mean the FLDS people are basically Mormon organized crime at this point. There’s lots and lots of other stuff to hit them on. Zeroing in on them and decriminalizing the relatively normal polygamists is a good plan for this. Nothing breeds organized crime activity like communities that have secret lives to keep.
Americans just have terrible taste in food. It’s fine, you’ve been corrupted by billion dollars corporations hooking you up on corn syrup. Not your fault. You’re still the best at basketball (usually).
Somehow the only decent tasting fast food here is actively killing gay polar bears or some shit.
American food is both terrible (median) and absolutely incredible at the same time. If you disagree with that it’s probably a you problem or you live in some rural shit hole.
America invented creole, Cajun, southern, various regional bbq, Tex mex, and western Chinese.
They evolved a version of nearly every ethic food, most notably Italian.
Some of the best fine dining on earth is in America including more Michelin stars than any other county on earth.
After? I mean I have hopes for the world, but we’re all animals and there isn’t much in the way of after. I hope to be as happy as I can make myself while achieving those goals. The best goals are physical things that can help us be motivated to pass our time in something other than existential dread IMO. To say I’m not a spiritual person (and consider spiritualism itself to be a pretty big trap) is an understatement.
And we also put corn syrup in everything and have hundreds of thousands of shitty fast food franchises. It’s a land of contradictions about food lol.
Nowadays they add the pepperoni for you for the same price. It’s amazing. Only reason I don’t get it several times a week is they don’t let you eat in the restaurant.
