Deep Thought: How come a candidate is allowed to talk about āthe black voteā and āthe brown voteā but if they referred to Asians as āthe yellow voteā their campaign would be over?
Similarly, non-English speakers are probably very confused when they first learn that āvoters of colorā is fine but ācolored votersā would be campaign suicide.

I actually think referring to the ābrownā vote is not all that great, because not many non-black, non-white people refer to themselves that way. Asians call themselves Asian, not yellow, but black people call themselves black.

Black people often refer to themselves as exactly that, so itās a term chosen by the black community. Iāve never heard East Asians calling themselves yellow.
āColouredā comes directly from South Africaās apartheid era and Jim Crow laws in the US, so has connotations, whereas again āof colourā is the term chosen by the non-white community.
But why should they get to decide? Why shouldnāt I, as a middle-aged Boomer, get to use whatever term I want for them? I feel persecuted.

The irritating thing to me isnāt that Rush Limbaugh and Jordan Peterson and Newt Gingrich and Jerry Falwell and Bill OReilly and basically every single one of these people are monstrous hypocrites, and it isnāt even that they keep conning rubes no matter how obvious their personal failings. Here is an interview from November 2019 allegedly two months after he got out of rehab the last time. If the problem has been ongoing for eight months, he is suffering in this video from the panic, restlessness, and benzo addiction.
So far sheās doing really well considering the diagnosis. The doctors said she has type A influenza which is supposed to be the bad version I was told. Maybe they caught it early.
I hung out with her for a couple hours yesterday, which she was against because she didnāt want me to get sick but I told her tough shit and just masked/gloved up. We mostly talked about politics and dunked on Pete/Biden. She also recently seems pretty woke to how the MSM/Establishment is obviously anti-bernie. So Iām super proud of her, definitely a good boomer.
Sheās still having trouble breathing at times but besides that seems in pretty good shape to recover. Iām definitely surprised and happy at her progress so far. Sheās in good spirits. I showed her a post I made on FB which got a ton of love and told her how the political nerds I talk to were also rooting for her and those things put a big smile on her face and clearly made an impact, so thanks guys!
