Winter 2021 LC Thread—I Want Sous Vide

I dunno what PUA mumbo jumbo someone told you about neg-hitting waitresses - but you made this bed for yourself with your first comment itt.

You thinking PUA has anything to do with what I’m saying when I said over and over to not hit on servers is exactly what I’m talking about wrt unfair shaming.

It’s a really shitty attitude to think that people in the service industry would not bother with the professionalism except for getting a little extra cash from gullible customers.

I regret giving this impression. Lots of servers are naturally nice people.

But you said that you didn’t find any issues with the dude’s comments which were all bad. You said the closest thing to a complaint is that she looks better with fake eyelashes. Why in the fuck would you ever care or comment on someone who serves your foods eyelashes?

You didn’t even call that a complaint btw. You said it was the closest thing to one.

Not American, are waitresses serving alcohol in the USA all 21+? Obviously with drinking age in Canada being 18 so many are 18-21 and that’s just even creepier at times for interactions.

Google the inside of his house and you’ll have the answer.

In theory, yes. I’m sure there are many places that ignore this law.

Restaurants they can be 18 in my state but straight up bars have to be 21.

Honestly, you come across a bit as someone who feels a sense of entitlement to friendship and romantic interest because you think you are a nice guy and are frustrated that it hasn’t happened yet and you’re afraid to try to make it happen, lest you be labeled a perv.

I absolutely did not. My very first comment:

Watching you guys, and the waitress, dunk on Eddie is depressing. It just reinforces my previous conclusion that one should never express attraction toward women in person unless you are close friends.

Followed up with

I already quoted the comment I’m talking about:

The closest thing I saw to a complaint about makeup is telling one she looks better with the fake eyelashes. It didn’t seem like he threatened to leave if she didn’t, though he said he did stop coming.

I totally get you guys are probably right about this stuff, it just sucks for me.

Should have taken your own advice of the last sentence imo.

There is some wisdom in this. It is frustrating, despite my intellectual understanding that I do not deserve friendship.

Exactly right. I know it makes you sad. It makes me sad that I can’t punch the player in seat 1 for his terrible breath when I’m in the dealer box, but such is life.

You’re also a poker player. When you or I describe someone as fishing, that pretty obviously implies a bit of contempt for the target of the fishing, and that the target is basically a sucker.

You should understand that not every post is super serious.

I made a thing.

Mid-century is so played out. You need some Glasgow Art Nouveau in your life.

We know you’re a decent person because your frustrations haven’t turned you into an incel ball of rage.

If you want friendship, I’m willing to meet with you the next time I pass through Hammond, if you still go there. I used to make a trip there for WSOP circuit events and I’ve logged 30-40 hours of PLO cash there every year. It’s possible we’ve played together. I might pass by even without tournaments.

We’re your friends!

As your friend, I feel it is my responsibility to post this and give you mild shit about it, even though it was last week
