Winter 2021 LC Thread—I Want Sous Vide

The Turkish kebab place in oswald St just round from the Arches night club was pretty good tbh, stone oven and all, that’s probably the best I’ve tried.

Changed owners and its still decent but haven’t been for years as said above, don’t know why tbh, it’s like I forget they excisted.

That’s my experience of pizza - you can find really good ones in the unlikeliest of places, and really average ones where you’d expect them to be good.

Best ever pizza I had was in France.

Oh man there Vegetable pizza where amazing at 3am after a session of poker, we used to walk over from the gorbals area in the summer & watch the madness from the clubs as we sat & ate.

:ok_hand:

I had pizza from a chain spot in London that I really liked but I can’t remember the name, well I mostly just liked the crust. Sourdough place. I’m not a pizza snob, I’ll eat just about any of it.

After some map sleuthing I think it was Franco Manca

Typically the best pizzas are cooked in extremely hot ovens. So you’ll often be surprised by a pizza from a Turkish place with a very hot oven, and similarly disappointed at some pasta place that will give you a pizza cooked at 450.

It’s gonna take like a month to count the votes in the NYC mayor race, it’s just shockingly awful election administration that nobody cares about because democrats win everything.

Wow I hadn’t heard that. That is brutal.

it’s mostly for absentee ballots.

serious question: my airpods pro are nearly dead. lots of static when volume is turned up, one of the rubber inserts is shredded. should i buy them on Prime Day ($60 discount), or wait for the new airpods pro which apple will possibly releases in the fall?

how old are they? apple sent me new ones when I started getting static

~15 months. got them early pandemic

probably worth calling and seeing if they’ll replace em. the static thing was due to a known defect (mine are from about the same time but I ran into the issue relatively quickly).

The wind as a reference is fine. I’m stuck with just my phone and Xfinity is pissing me off rn but as for what’s on the board, I’d like to see if I follow what you’re saying when I have more time and screen. For now

I don’t understand why the factor of 1/2 is in first eqn. With it in, mdot should be (edit) 2T/Vout. Eqns B and C then work out ok.
