I think it would be interesting if he fleshed it out more. I’m not sold yet. Consumption taxes are generally regressive, but I suppose one could construct a consumption-based tax code that gets a pretty decent outcome. The devil is in the details.
You need a CA fork lift license in CA.
Yeah, I know this as a number of people who have worked with me in solar have spent some time in a warehouse. But…does a license mean you are any good at it?
No, not any more than a drivers license means you are any good at driving. It means you completed safety training. OTOH lack of a fork lift license, baring circumstances, means they haven’t yet learned how to operate one.
Illustrating New Zealand’s advantage this year, Wellington also entered the top 10. It came fourth behind Osaka, which rose two spots to second place, and Adelaide, which leapfrogged its compatriots Sydney and Melbourne to third place from 10th.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT!
Infantile encephalopathy is associated with approximately 1500 genetic diseases. Without prompt treatment, permanent neurologic injury or death may occur. Here, the genome of a patient with the condition was sequenced and a diagnosis made within 13 hours, leading to informed treatment.
Infant’s symptoms resolved in 6 hours. 37 hours all in from admission to resolution of symptoms.
Was expecting Adelaide to be too hot. It seems a little too hot, but maybe ok if you’re close to the water? (similar to LA?)
Seems like a good comp. LA is just about as far north of the equator as Adelaide is south.
However LA weather is far better than East Coast US weather at same latitude, so there is more to the story than latitude.
Yeah. I checked the average dew point in Adelaide too. It’s not bad.
Yeah it’s hot here in summer but very rarely humid. I don’t mind it. Climate here suits me, I like having four seasons and hate humidity.
I don’t know what that means in Australia, but here it kind of implies that you get some snow.
Thanks. I actually asked about this in unstuck a while ago and someone explained it to me, but I promptly forgot the explanation.
You wouldn’t happen to have a map of the ocean currents around South Australia, would you? That might help us get to the bottom of it.
Looking at this map more closely, I’m having a hard time understanding why California current is cooler than the North Pacific current if they originate from the same general area.
Never heard of a CA forklift license… You show up and say you have experience and then you spend some time with a certified trainer in an area where you can’t hurt people or hit shit and slowly get certified by each warehouse.
So each warehouse has their own certification process and your previous certification doesn’t mean shit.
I guess it’s just OSHA, not CA.
Latitude is pretty limited in telling you what to expect from climate. Compare how much further north European cities are relative to N. American ones. Rome is north of Cleveland. London is north of Calgary.
I’m hoping Bernoulli comes up in this discussion. That would get us right back to Einstein again.
Because the climate off Alaska is cooler than near LA.
