the other explanation is that she’s simply the conservative she’s always been. she’s just too smart for their supply side nonsense, so she can’t actually be part of that party.
I’ll still vote for Liz if Bernie is far enough behind that it looks like voting for Bernie is like halfway voting for Biden. But pulling harder for Bernie.
Will be interesting to see how the next Unstuck primary poll is affected by this. Really disheartening to see Warren’s mask slip, but I guess better now than way later in the process.
Let’s see if Liz gets a bump in support from anyone. I don’t think she caved into industry pressure, but maybe from the party. The Democratic party does suck ass. #1 reason Bernie > Liz.
Exactly. I find it funny when people try to say Bernie being an Independent is a negative.
GOPete got her shook imo.
To y’all (mostly Bernie supporters) who seem to have M4A as your top voting issue: what odds do you give to Pres Bernie passing M4A in his first term? Feel free to posit different House/Senate scenarios if you want.
It’s about my third issue. Bernie is better on the other two as well.
The point about starting the negotiation compromised is a good one. Now is the time to state the policy they want and then go do their best to get as close to that as they can.

Doesn’t matter
My Warren > Bernie > Pete order has not changed, but the answer to your question is:
I am not going to pull numbers out of my ass but here’s my take:
If he wins in a landslide election where M4A is the central part of his platform and can get the senate by 2022 he has a realistic chance.
Caveat Edit: It will be phased in, not implemented instantly.
Think I’m still pulling for Warren, but this is disheartening.
My take is thst expansion of Medicare or a public option are less likely now than they were yesterday. Socialized health care will happen one day in the US, barring apocalypse, and that date just moved further into the future.
What’s your definition of a landslide?
Warren says this will lay the groundwork for pushing Congress to pass a bill fully implementing Medicare for All in her third year in office, an approach that seems designed to blunt attacks from Republicans and some Democrats who have criticized her for quickly stripping people of their private health coverage. By the time the country moves to single-payer, she argues, tens of millions of people will have already had a taste of it.
So complete lies itt. Gjge.
Is Liz going to be talking about clean coal next?
Sorry, I take it you are saying that Warren’s proposal today is less likely to happen now than if she had not proposed it and continued to be for M4A, from a negotiation strategy perspective?
I mean it’s not going to be M4A passes on day one and it starts on day 2. M4A will not be implemented for a minimum of 4 years from the date of passage, and probably 8 if it goes no private insurance. It sounds like her plan can get implemented right away, while transitioning into the next phase of M4A.
Win all swing states by enough that GOP congress critters start shitting their pants.
No surprise, this is who she is, a craven, power-hungry opportunist. Went from supporting Warren to realizing she was a lying, opportunist POS when this was posted here a little while ago:
People are not necessarily defined by their work decades ago, but her campaign’s current day spin in that article on her corporate work actually being good completely reveal who she is.
She doesn’t give a damn about billionaires, she is only attacking them because she is smart enough to know it is politically popular. And while “Pocahontas” is inappropriate there is little doubt that the right is 100% correct that she lied and abused the system to attain extraordinary special preferences that she was not entitled to. Pained me to have to admit that to a right-wing colleague after realizing I had been duped by her.
