Then he got ambitious.

Hey another day skimming the forum to see if it was a non-lllnun day and Im shocked it wasnt.
He’s the guy who sounds like a drunk Alan Thicke.
Thread eloquently states why what Shifty Pete is doing is so disingenuous and harmful:

I’ve made this point before, but this should have been obvious from the fact that he joined the military in his late 20s when he already had a cushy/mildly evil consulting job (in 2009, when it was clear that whatever we were doing in the ME was bullshit) and then almost immediately began running for office. And then he decides that his experience being mayor of a medium size college town in Indiana qualifies him to be fucking President.
So ITT I learned it’s a good thing that Warren has to figure out how to message something incredibly complex vs super dishonest attacks on cost, of all things, on a program that will save the public, conservatively, 1T a year. If she is forced to move to the right in the Democratic primary on healthcare it’ll be a clear demonstration of how completely healthcare money has corrupted the political system and why Pete’s ‘solution’ is hot garbage.
You’re bending yourself into ridiculous knots to defend your guy @skydiver8. Which makes sense because you’ve invested a lot into being with him. You fell in love with the resume because it looks a bit like yours (ex military) and he’s extremely well spoken.
Meanwhile the exact moment he started losing me was when he started holding big dollar fundraisers with the usual suspects. You said he could still do good things and wouldn’t be compromised. That’s now obviously bullshit and your candidate is very obviously a weasel.
And before anyone says ‘but BoredSocial you back Yang and he’s for a public option’… yeah I didn’t see him attacking Warren about M4A cost. In fact I’m 99.5% certain that he’s claiming to be for a public option because defending M4A in public is a nightmare, and he’ll actually just do the most aggressively public healthcare deal he can get. But his priority is fixing our economic metrics (which I’m a huge huge believer in), UBI (which I think is a game changer for the country politically) , and political reform (which indirectly makes single payer easier to do). Very critically though he isn’t going to start asking Elizabeth Warren how she’s going to pay for single payer… because that’s a stupid dishonest question that undermines the solution we have to eventually land on.
That’s the standard for OK and not OK. I’m fine with people disagreeing with a public option publicly during a primary because they don’t want to have to carry the weight of the right wing attacks about whether or not taxes will go up (they absolutely will… but not by anywhere near as much as healthcare costs will fall). I’m not OK with participating in those right wing attacks. You can be mildly cowardly (some would say smart… obviously I’d prefer if the entire field united behind this issue so that it couldn’t be used as a wedge) but you can’t be a fucking traitor.
Jesus Christ. Can HRC please shut the fuck up now? Every time she opens her mouth she increases GOP voter turnout and lowers voter turnout for our side. Just nails on a chalk board for me at least.
Bitch you are done. Done. Your career is over. Go give a speech for six figures to some group of plutocrats and stop talking to the media. This whole shit show is your fault more than anyone else’s absolutely including Donald, who is a terrain feature. You’re the player that threw the game and that isn’t going to change no matter what you say now. After HRC dies someone is going to carve ‘lost to DJT’ on her tombstone. It’s the only datapoint about her that matters and it’s the only reason she’ll be in history books.
What we’ve been doing in the ME was clear in 1991 the last time the US encouraged the Kurds to fight and then watched them get slaughtered. Also clear in the 1970s when Nixon and The Shah armed the Kurds to fight in Iraq with full and premeditated planning to abandon them because they just wanted to hurt Iraq without risking a Kurdish uprising in Iran. Also clear in 1963, when after arming the Kurds we threw our support to the military coup led by Saddam Hussein.
I agree, but I’m willing to cut some slack to an 18 year old who signed up for the army in 2002. Not so much for a high IQ 27 year old in 2009.
Me too and like I’ve said before itt, I think most people join the military because they are trying to do something good. But, they need some excuse for being so naive as to think that’s what the mission really is.

Someone stick a mic in this turd’s face and ask her about the Golan Heights so that we don’t ever have to hear about her again

Hit a nerve? Tulsi long on Hillary predict shares?
Best description I’ve heard for Tulsi is malevolent.
Weirdly I think a Tulsi 3rd party run would hurt Donald more than Warren.
This is 100% true. Would compete for the “I’m an idiot” vote, which is like 40% of the electorate.
Russia has so many ponies they’re cannibalizing one another’s vote share.
We know why Pete joined the military. Why did Tulsi? ROTC or she joined after she wasn’t accepted into local community college?
I mean, we are afraid of the national security threat she poses.
That tweetstorm will make her a viable GOP candidate.
‘It’s now clear that this primary is between you and me’ is quite possibly one of the funniest things I ever heard. It’s almost as similar as me saying to Tulsi, ‘it’s clear now that this primary is between you and me’. This person is so irrelevant it’s not even funny.
A huge % of Tulsi supporters are just Republicans. And she’s on Fox all the freaking time.
