Where do you live?

Norman, OK. I chose Southwest after flipping a coin.

Hector, New York. Small town in the Finger Lakes region. I live in a tiny cabin between Seneca and Cayuga lakes.

My semi-hermit status is paying off right now. This is mostly business as usual for me.

I don’t possess the skills to do this, but maybe someone in this forum does.

This is a Voronoi map of the US that reorganizes all the land according to the closest state capital:

It would be really cool to see something like this, but of the whole world, and with the points as all the locations of people as reported ITT.

No Central Europe?

Guess if you’re using the Iron Curtain as the divider, Eastern Europe it is.

If iron curtain is the divider I guess my neighborhood would have been part of east Berlin, but I put Western Europe. When I think of Eastern Europe I’m thinking Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Romania, the baltics, and Russia.

To me (and most Czechs) the Czech Republic is Central Europe. This is because Czechs remember how Eastern Bloc countries led by the Soviet Union invaded Czechoslovakia to quash the demoratic reforms of the Prague Spring and solidify communist authoritarian rule in 1968, leading to 20+ more years of communist rule and oppression.

My current conclusion is that there aren’t really a ton of California people here, it’s probably just that we won’t shut up about it. But to be fair, it makes sense we’d talk about where we live more than someone who lives in, for instance, Ohio.

I thought we had a ton of Canadians here? 6% seems off.

These are the stats from Analytics for 2020 to date. It’s noisy data so take it with a few grains of salt. I think actual numbers are lower across the board. When I was working I’d hit the site from 2 or 3 different IP address on any given weekday.
