I wish to dispel some possible confusion:
Over at 22, I listed my location as “Winesburg, Ohio.” This was a pretentious reference to the quaint, fictional town that is the setting of the Modernist short story cycle Winesburg Ohio which was loosely based on daily life in Clyde, Ohio.
I have since learned that there actually is a real Winesburg, Ohio that exists in the real world but was founded well before the book Winesburg Ohio was written and has nothing at all to do with the fictional short stories. Rest assured I have never been in the real-world town of Winesburg, Ohio. It’s all very confusing.
